Shimshon, you write>>Besides there are people who claim that your pronunciation Yod-Hey-Waw-Hey was once the name of a pagan deity, of course most pagan deities started out as actual people who were later worshiped. So it is only YOUR belief that you are not calling Elohim by the name of a man. You haven't gone out and actually done the research yourself, you have relied on the research of others. Research that you have not verified for yourself, and research that could be wrong.

To be 100 percent honest here, I find the above so ridiculous, so how can I really give you a decent comment on it?

Honestly Shim, maybe you should study more and not rely upon the Hebrew that you think you know so well. It could just turn out that Yahweh's name is known by those who seek him.

Actually Callie, I am not relying on the Hebrew I have studied in the comment you quoted. If you look at the comments I made, I said that there are some people and scholars who state this of this particular and other similar pronunciations. I did not claim that my research in the language lead me to that conclusion, although based on archeology it is not impossible. If you look back on what I posted, I gave about 10 possibilities I know of all with pros and cons. I also stated that any one of the ten I know have could be or could not be how Yod-Hey-Waw-Hey. As I mentioned before I am neither promoting nor demoting anything.

Later on I will post the information from the scholars who make such claims.

Shalom all,

This topic apparently hit the limit of what this forum software can handle. It is the largest thread ever with over 1MB in size.
