One important aspect of our faith that we must base all our studies on is Seeking the TRUTH. Anything we find to be false, we should throw out regardless of whether or not it might be more popular.
Obedience to the truth that has been revealed to us is the key to being led into more truth. This, I believe is very important.
The eyes of our Creator seeks those whose heart is perfect toward Him. He is speaking Here to an unruly King:
2 Ch 16:9- For the eyes of Yahweh run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of [them] whose heart [is] perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
Here Yahweh is telling Jeremiah (YermeYahu) that if He can find ONE PERSON in Jerusalem that really seeks the truth, He will pardon the whole city!
Jeremiah 5:1- Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be [any] that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.
Here is our Savior speaking of the importance of knowing truth
John 4:23- But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 Elohim [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.
The Spirit is what guides us into all truth
John 14:17 – [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 15:26 – But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
John 16:13- Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into ALL TRUTH: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
The path to truth will stop if we don’t obey the truth He has given us
Acts 5:32 – And we are his witnesses of these things; and [so is] also the Holy Spirit, whom Elohim hath given to them that obey him.
1 Peter 1:22- Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, [see that ye] love one another with a pure heart fervently
If we don’t have a love for the truth, we will believe a lie!
2 Th 2:7- For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Master shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause Elohim shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but HAD PLEASURE IN UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.
We must have a love for the truth to be saved. Having pleasure in unrighteousness is the same as not obeying the truth He has given us.
Those that ignore His ways will never find Him, though they seek Him:
Proverbs 1:22- How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? 23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. 24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; THEY SHALL SEEK ME EARLY, BUT THEY SHALL NOT FIND ME: 29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of Yahweh: 30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Proverbs 8:17- I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Jeremiah 29:13- And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
