Matthew 23:39 - For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of YHWH.

This message is about what it takes inside - in our hearts - to be disciples of Yahshua.

This message is as much for myself as anyone…. An exhortation to examine ourselves......

that we might not be false-confident, but rather meek and humble, Yahshua's diligent students, praying for Yahweh's mercy -

that He might lift us up.

May none of us fall into the pride-pitfall of self-righteousness, self-exaltation, or rebellion........ deceiving traps

What does it mean, to be Yahshua's Disciple?

Is this something we strive for, hold as our pearl of great price?

What does a disciple of Yahshua do?

We walk as he walked, we talk as he talked, we strive to become like him.

1John 2:6 - He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1Peter 2:23 - who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

We are to be obedient to Yahweh as Yahshua was obedient.

Are there requirements for continuing to be his Disciple?

We have to Count the cost…….When we put our hand to the plow, there's no turning back.

Remember Lots wife…...

1Corinthians 15:10 - But by the favor of YHWH I am what I am: and his favor which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the favor of YHWH which was with me.

Luke 9:61 - And another also said, Rabbi, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.

Luke 9:62 - And Yahushua said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of YHWH.

Can a disciple, fall away?

John 6:30 - They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

John 6:31 - Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

John 6:32 - Then Yahushua said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

John 6:33 - For the bread of Elohim is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

John 6:34 - Then said they unto him, Rabbi, evermore give us this bread.

John 6:35 - And Yahushua said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John 6:36 - But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

John 6:37 - All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

John 6:38 - For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

John 6:39 - And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

John 6:40 - And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:41 - The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

John 6:42 - And they said, Is not this Yahushua, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

John 6:43 - Yahushua therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

John 6:44 - No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:45 - It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of YHWH. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

John 6:46 - Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of YHWH, he hath seen the Father.

John 6:47 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

John 6:48 - I am that bread of life.

John 6:49 - Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

John 6:50 - This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

John 6:51 - I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

John 6:52 - The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

John 6:53 - Then Yahushua said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

John 6:60 - Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

John 6:61 - When Yahushua knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

John 6:62 - What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

John 6:63 - It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 6:64 - But there are some of you that believe not. For Yahushua knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

John 6:65 - And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

John 6:66 - From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

When we ponder this..do we think NO! that can't happen to me!

I wouldn't have done that!

He who stands beware, lest he fall

John 6:67 - Then said Yahushua unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

John 6:68 - Then Simon Kepha answered him, Rabbi, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

John 6:69 - And we believe and are sure that thou art the Messiah, the Son of the living Elohim.

John 6:70 - Yahushua answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

John 6:71 - He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

but rather, something to cling to.

A Disciple, by definition , is taught one, student, or pupil

If a person is to be truly a student/disciple, there must be a willing heart listening

To truly be a disciple, preconceived notions have to be overcome or eliminated. Baggage thrown out.....

Why else does it say, that we must become as little children?

We can profess to be Yahshua's disciples, does that automatically make us Yahshua's disciples?

Why was Judas allowed to be counted as one of Yahshua's disciples? Was it to teach us the deceivableness of sin? Greed, envy, pride?

Matthew 24:24 - For there shall arise false messiahs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

2Thessalonians 2:10 - And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Isaiah 8:16 - Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

Isaiah 8:20 - To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Matthew 7:15 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matthew 7:16 - Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Matthew 7:17 - Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Matthew 7:18 - A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Matthew 7:19 - Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Matthew 7:20 - Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Matthew 7:21 - Not every one that saith unto me, Rabbi, Rabbi, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22 - Many will say to me in that day, Rabbi, Rabbi, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23 - And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 7:24 - Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Matthew 12:48 - But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

Matthew 12:49 - And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

Matthew 12:50 - For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

We see who is our brother, the one who is striving to apply Yahweh's teaching to their lives... The one who is overcoming the flesh.

Matthew 5:21 - Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

Matthew 5:22 - But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Matthew 5:23 - Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

Matthew 5:24 - Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

How many times do we use the excuse, or seen it used…he has made me mad….he is not my brother…

Or, he/she does not have the same views as I do..therefore he/she is not my brother/sister......??

Do we look inwardly at ourselves when we are having difficulty with others?

Do we examine our motives and search out to see if we have sin/pride that might be making us feel indignant, self righteous, angry, offended, or hurt?

Are we more concerned about molding someone into our idea of Yahushua's likeness, that we neglect the place where we should start first??

Judgement starts at the temple..

our bodies are to be temples

Remember the inkhorn bearer in Ezekiel? Judgement begins at the temple. We are the living temple

Ezekiel 9:6 - Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

1Corinthians 6:19 - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of YAHWEH, and ye are not your own?

1Corinthians 6:20 - For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify YAHWEH in your body, and in your spirit, which are His.

Matthew 23:23 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Matthew 23:24 - Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Matthew 23:25 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

Matthew 23:26 - Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

Matthew 23:27 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

Matthew 23:28 - Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

1Peter 4:17 - For the time [has] [come] for judgment to begin at the house of YHWH; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the glad tidings of YHWH?

1Peter 4:18 - Now "If the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the wicked and the sinner appear?"

Pray that we continue in the teaching of Yahshua, who shows us the perfect will of our Father in heaven.

Matthew 18:11 - For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

Matthew 18:12 - How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

Matthew 18:13 - And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Matthew 18:14 - Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Matthew 18:15 - Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

When we go, is it to establish our righteousness, or are we really wanting to gain our brother?

When we feel we have been wronged…whether real, or imagined, are we eager to forgive??

Do we bear grudges? Who is the righteous Judge?

When we seek justice, revenge should never be the motive

Matthew 5:38 - Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

Matthew 5:39 - But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Matthew 5:40 - And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

Matthew 5:41 - And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

Matthew 5:42 - Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Matthew 5:43 - Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

Matthew 5:44 - But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Invalid book, be more specific

Matthew 5:45 - That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Matthew 5:46 - For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

Matthew 5:47 - And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Matthew 5:48 - Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

John 6:27 - Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath the Father sealed.

Yahweh bless
