11/15/2002 Sabbath Meeting Transcript

Shabbat Shalom everyone,

This message is intended to bring forth Scripture that will encourage each and every one of us to examine ourselves, and contemplate the implications of having knowledge but lacking in practices of righteousness.

May we all develop a strong desire for truth, and attaining the character of Messiah.

May YHWH be exalted in everything we find to do.

Matthew 22:37 - Yahushua said unto him, Thou shalt love YHWH thy Elohim with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Matthew 22:38 - This is the first and great commandment.

Matthew 22:39 - And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 22:40 - On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Thou shalt love YHWH thy Elohim with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

How often do we forget one, when pursuing the other?

You shall love your neighbour as yourself, applies amongst brethren, within families, communities..

Yet, there are many times amongst the brethren when this ONE of TWO GREAT commands - is totally neglected.

whether it is dealing with brethren who have differing views, such as on the forum.

Or in the chat room

Or, it might be beyond that in your family or local brethren.

Maybe its only partially neglected at times.

Jeremiah 6:16 - Thus saith YHWH, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Proverbs 1:7 - The fear of YHWH is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 12:1 - Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

2Timothy 3:1 - This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Timothy 3:2 - For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Timothy 3:3 - Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2Timothy 3:4 - Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of YHWH;

2Timothy 3:5 - Having a form of reverence, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

an appearance of reverance?

Do we create an appearance of reverence, but deny YHWH's power?

2Timothy 3:6 - For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

2Timothy 3:7 - Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

knowledge without righteousness

Ecclesiastes 5:1 - Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of Elohim, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

Ecclesiastes 5:2 - Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before Elohim: for Elohim is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

Ecclesiastes 5:3 - For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

Or, every time an idea came to mind

Or, every time we disagreed with someone elses idea

The outcome might be different

Proverbs 18:13 - He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.

Proverbs 16:25 - There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

1Corinthians 13:1 - Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

1Corinthians 13:2 - And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.

1Corinthians 13:3 - And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profiteth me nothing.

1Corinthians 13:4 - Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

1Corinthians 13:5 - Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

1Corinthians 13:6 - Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

1Corinthians 13:7 - Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

But without it, we are as nothing

remember that

Galatians 5:22 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Galatians 5:23 - gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Do we pray for these fruits to be manifest in us, before we deal with others, when we wake up, when we lie down?

Do we pray that others may manifest these fruits as well?

Do we ask YHWH for these fruits?

Do we teach these fruits by example?

Questions to ask ourselves

Do we seek these things before we deal with others

Galatians 5:25 - If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Galatians 5:26 - Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Matthew 12:33 - Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Matthew 12:34 - O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Matthew 12:35 - A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Matthew 12:36 - But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Matthew 12:37 - For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Do we consider this when giving a hasty answer

whether it is at a meeting, on a forum,

or even with your spouse

?

How careful are we against this?

every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Proverbs 15:8 - The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to YHWH: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

Proverbs 15:9 - The way of the wicked is an abomination unto YHWH: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

Proverbs 15:10 - Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

Proverbs 15:11 - Hell and destruction are before YHWH: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

Do we seek refining?

Do we ask YHWH to wake us up, to chasten us when needed - to open our ears to His correction?

Proverbs 15:2 - The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

Proverbs 11:9 - An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

assuming that he is without fault, and may thus cast a stone

Proverbs 8:13 - The fear of YHWH is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Proverbs 21:27 - The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

2Peter 2:9 - then YHWH knows how to deliver the righteous out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

Psalm 5:11 - But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

Psalm 5:12 - For thou, YHWH, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

relying on YHWH

2Peter 2:9 - then YHWH knows how to deliver the righteous out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

2Peter 2:10 - and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries,

2Peter 2:11 - whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before YHWH.

2Peter 2:12 - But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption,

2Peter 2:13 - and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you,

2Peter 2:14 - having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and [are] accursed children.

Or, do we diligently examine our conduct, making sure we do not have any beginnings of this character.

2Peter 2:15 - They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

2Peter 2:16 - but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet.

2Peter 2:17 - These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

2Peter 2:18 - For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error.

2Peter 2:19 - While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.

2Peter 2:20 - For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of YHWH and Savior Yahushua the Messiah, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.

2Peter 2:21 - For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

2Peter 2:22 - But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire."

They become entangled.... why?

1John 1:7 - But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Yahushua the Messiah His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

There are many things for us to consider about ourselves before we even begin to examine others.

Matthew 7:3 - And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Matthew 7:4 - Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Matthew 7:5 - Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Galatians 6:1 - Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.

Proverbs 1:22 - How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

Proverbs 1:23 - Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Proverbs 1:24 - Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

Proverbs 1:25 - But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

Proverbs 1:26 - I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

Proverbs 1:27 - When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

Proverbs 1:28 - Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Proverbs 1:29 - For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of YHWH:

Proverbs 1:30 - They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

Proverbs 1:31 - Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

Proverbs 1:32 - For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

Proverbs 1:33 - But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Isaiah 59:1 - Behold, YHWH's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

Isaiah 59:2 - But your iniquities have separated between you and your Elohim, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Proverbs 16:7 - When a man's ways please YHWH, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

1Peter 3:8 - Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;

1Peter 3:9 - not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

John 13:35 - By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

1Peter 3:10 - For "He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.

1Peter 3:11 - Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

1Peter 3:12 - For the eyes of YHWH are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of YHWH is against those who do evil."

For the eyes of YHWH are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers

Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Ecclesiastes 12:10 - The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

Ecclesiastes 12:11 - The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

Ecclesiastes 12:12 - And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohim, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 - For Elohim shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. .
