EliYah's message:

HalleluYah!!!

Throughout scripture, there are certain things which belong to Yahweh and are considered 'holy'.

Throughout scripture, we see that Yahweh is very concerned that we know the difference between the holy/separate and the common.

In the case of the Sabbath, there are certain days that are common or normal days, and there are certain days that Yahweh considers to be holy and set apart to Him.

Some are under the impression that we need not keep the Sabbath today, but that we only need to "love."

But part of loving Yahweh is choosing to not profane the holy things that He has created.

One of the things Yahweh instituted is the Sabbath, which was set apart at creation. It was so important and necessary, that Yahweh kept it Himself:

Genesis 2:2 - And on the seventh day Elohim ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

Genesis 2:3 - And Elohim blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Elohim created and made.

The Hebrew word for "Sanctified" in this verse is "Qadash" (Heb. #6942), which is the Hebrew word that "Qodesh", the word most translated "Holy", is based upon.

So the Sabbath is the very first thing that scripture records Yahweh setting apart or making holy. For those who think that the Sabbath was profaned and ignored every week until Yahweh gave the Ten Commandments, they simply do not understand holiness.

Yahweh never approves the profaning of His holy things.

Ezekiel 22:26 - Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

Notice in this scripture Yahweh Himself is "profaned" among others because:

1. They did not distinguish between the holy and unholy

2. They did not make known the difference between the clean and the unclean

3. They hid their eyes from Yahweh's Sabbaths

When Yahushua came, was it all of a sudden pleasing to Yahweh that those who claim to believe in Him are free to make no difference between the holy and unholy, the clean and unclean, and hide their eyes from His Sabbaths?

Surely no.

It may be difficult for some to believe, but our defiling of the Sabbath is one of the things that made it necessary for Yahushua to suffer and die for us.

Sometimes we tend to view "what's important" through the eyes and perspective of the culture that we live in today.

If every person on the earth kept the Sabbath, the one who went out and mowed his lawn on the Sabbath would be viewed as an apostate who needed to repent.

But since so many break the Sabbath today and ignore it, it isn't viewed as being particularly significant

We need to be careful about letting the world affect what we view as important. We need to let Yahweh define what's important. What is important to Him must be important to us!

When evangelical Christians see the homosexuality out there today, they decry it and sometimes mention that those who practice this are worthy of the death penalty

But didn't Yahweh also have the one who gathered sticks/wood on the Sabbath put to death?

He views it as being very important.

Therefore, it needs to be important to us as well!

It is so important, it is included in the Ten Commandments.

It is so important, that Yahweh set this day apart at creation and kept it Himself.

What greater importance could He have placed on it?

Yet, people treat the Sabbath as a common thing. It is not common, it is holy.

Yahweh said:

Exodus 20:8 - Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Sadly, the one commandment out of the Ten that we are told to "remember".. is the one that is most often forgotten by those who claim to be believers in the bible.

Exodus 20:9 - Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Exodus 20:10 - But the seventh day is the sabbath of YAHWEH thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Exodus 20:11 - For in six days YAHWEH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YAHWEH blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

So, we see that the primary way we keep the Sabbath holy is to refrain from work. We see that we are also not to cause others to work, such as our children, servants, visitors to our home or even our animals. This is the day that even Yahweh rested!

This would also mean that we must refrain from going to stores and restaurants on the Sabbath. For instance, if we go to a restaurant, we are hiring servants to prepare and cook our meals, serve them, and clean our tables when we are done.

This is no different than having a maid do work for us on the Sabbath. Buying and selling on the Sabbath is not pleasing to Yahweh:

Nehemiah 13:15 - In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified gainst them in the day wherein they sold victuals.

Nehemiah 13:16 - There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

Nehemiah 13:17 - Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?

So buying and selling is clearly profaning Yahweh's Sabbath, a day He wants us to remember and keep holy. Going to restaurants and shopping malls and grocery stores is no way to keep the Sabbath holy.

When Yahweh brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, he re-instituted the Sabbath day that had been forgotten. No doubt that the Egyptians expected them to work seven days a week. In the below scripture, Moses is telling the children of Israel what they should do in preparation for the Sabbath:

Exodus 16:23 - And he said unto them, This is that which YAHWEH hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto YAHWEH: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

On preparation day, we should prepare our food that will be eaten on the Sabbath so that we will not have to cook or prepare it on the Sabbath.

On the feast day Sabbaths though, cooking is permitted:

Exodus 12:15 - Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

Exodus 12:16 - And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.

The fact that Yahweh had to make an exception here for the feast day Sabbath demonstrates that on a normal Sabbath there was no meal cooking and preparations.

Yahweh not only wants our bodies to rest on His holy day, we see that He also wants our minds to rest:

Amos 8:4 - Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail,

Amos 8:5 - Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?

The context of this verse is Yahweh's displeasure over the poor being oppressed, but there is another here lesson also. Notice the attitude of those who are keeping the Sabbath.

They long for it to end so that they may go out and commit sin again.

We also need to remember that while the Sabbath is to be kept, we don't want to be longing for it to end or proceed to go out into the world and sin again when the Sabbath is over!

Of course, this isn't a problem if our attitude is right toward Yahweh's commandments and our relationship with Yahweh is what it should be.

1John 5:3 - For this is the love of YAHWEH, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

In this next verse, we will see what Yahweh desires our attitude to be like toward His holy day:

Isaiah 58:13 - If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of YAHWEH, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

Isaiah 58:14 - Then shalt thou delight thyself in YAHWEH; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of YAHWEH hath spoken it.

In context, this verse could possibly be speaking of the Day of Atonement, but the principles of keeping a day holy is no different. We see in verse 13 that Yahweh desires:

1. For us to call the Sabbath a delight.

2. To consider the holy day of Yahweh honorable.

3. For us to honor Him.

4. To not do our own ways.

5. To not find our own pleasure.

This is not a day to do our own ways or our own pleasure, but to do the ways of Yahweh and focus on the things that please Him.

This is a beautiful picture of Yahweh's desire for us. He desires our attention on Him and His matters on this day, let's truly honor Him and praise Him for His wonderful works on this day!

Perhaps some may think that Yahweh's attitude about the Sabbath changed in the New Testament. I find no evidence of this at all. If our attitude is right.. the Sabbath shouldn't be about what you "can't" do, but what you get to do!

I believe that it was the people who had the wrong attitude about the Sabbath. They compiled a list of do's and dont's, but Yahweh simply desires that we truly rest, fellowship with one another and fellowship with Him.

It is an honor to have a right relationship with our Creator. It is an honor to walk with Yahweh and to spend time with Him.

We need to get to know the One who created us from dust and loved us enough to send His own Son into the world to save us from our uncleanness and wickedness. That sounds like One that I would want to get to know!

And that's part of what the Sabbath is for.

Continuing the list:

6. To not speak our own words (Heb. Dabar dabar).

I find this to be an interesting scripture. The Hebrew here is literally "Dabar dabar". The Hebrew word "Dabar" is most often translated "word".

I can see the wisdom in translating it "our own words". It seems apparent that Yahweh doesn't want us being so quick to speak on His holy day.

Consider this scripture:

Ecclesiastes 5:1 - Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of Elohim, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

Ecclesiastes 5:2 - Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before Elohim: for Elohim is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

Ecclesiastes 5:3 - For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

The Sabbath would be the most common day for one to enter the house of Elohim.

We should be more inclined to hear rather than to speak hastily on His Sabbath day.

But if any man speak:

1Peter 4:11 - If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of YAHWEH. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which YAHWEH supplies, that in all things YAHWEH may be glorified through Yahushua the Messiah, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever.

We must circumspect of what words we partake of, and what words we speak. For this day is to be a day for hearing the words of Yahweh:

Leviticus 23:3 - Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of YAHWEH in all your dwellings.

The Hebrew words in Lev. 23:3 for "Holy convocation" are Miqra Kodesh. What does it mean to have a Miqra Kodesh?

The answer may surprise you. It literally means to have a "holy reading", which implies gathering together to do so. For instance:

Nehemiah 8:5 - And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:

Nehemiah 8:6 - And Ezra blessed YAHWEH, the great Elohim. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped YAHWEH with their faces to the ground.

Nehemiah 8:7 - Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.

Nehemiah 8:8 - So they read in the book in the law of Elohim distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

The word translated "reading" here is Miqra (Heb. #04744), elsewhere translated "convocation."

It is true that a convocation seems to be implied, but the focus is on hearing the words of Yahweh.

Some have asked for more specifics on what is good to do on the Sabbath and what is not good.

Here are some examples of things that are good to do:

Resting/sleeping, Reading Scripture, Reading books about Yahweh, Worship, Meeting with brethren, Listening to His word, Going outside for a gentle stroll and enjoying Creation, Studying Yahweh's word in depth, doing ministry, play spiritually enriching games with the family, Memorizing Scripture, Learning about Creation...

...Special Sabbath meals, Talking about Yahweh, Doing Yahweh’s pleasure, not our own, Helping others, Praying, Learning Hebrew and keeping a Holy Convocation together with family and other believers.

And also, keeping our conversation on spiritual things.

You might ask, "What are the Special Sabbath meals?"

My family and I have a special meal on Sabbath evenings just after sundown. We call it "Special Sabbath".

Though we may vary from time to time, what we like to do most of the time is this: Get out our best dishes, and put on our best clothes, letting our children choose the meal they would like. We set a place for our Savior at the table, knowing that He is in the midst of where two or three are gathered.

Of course, Yahushua gets the best dishes and placemat. We even use cloth napkins, and we have a candlelight dinner. During the meal we like to talk about the week and the things we gained spiritually.

After the meal I get out the guitar and we sing praise to our Creator.

Then I bless our children, and my wife.

It has been a very special, very memorable time for all of us. We rejoice and long for that special time at the end of the week that we can rest from the cares of this life and focus on what's really important in life.

It instills special memories and positive thoughts about the Sabbath. Just this morning when I told my little girls that Sabbath was coming, they got excited and said "Praaise Yahweh!! I love the Sabbath!"

Brethren, it is always a blessing to do exactly what our Heavenly Father asks us to do and certainly He knows what is best for us.

Now here are some examples of things that are not good to do on the Sabbath:

Going to work, Cooking, Cleaning, Raking Your Yard, Mowing the Lawn, Building Your House, Entertainments, Buying/Selling, Going to Restaurants, Riding bikes, Playing wordly games, Reading books unrelated to Yahweh, starting fires and fighting or arguing (unholy conversation).

We want to remember this day and keep the day holy as Yahweh said. We must keep our mind and lives focused on spiritual things on this holy day of Yahweh.

Doing so will keep us strong spiritually.

The front door of Christian churches is often a revolving door because people have an emotional conversion but fail to stand strong.

But if we have one day out of the week where we can withdraw ourselves from the world and its influences--and concentrate on keeping the day holy by worshipping, praying and studying Yahweh's word, it truly strengthens our faith and a keeps us growing spiritually.

Soon, keeping the Sabbath is no longer just a day of rest but rather a way of life!

Often, the keeping of the Sabbath will keep us from falling away.

Just as it would be unthinkable to not go to work during the week, the idea of breaking it becomes unthinkable because it is just the way we live!

And as we keep the Sabbath, Yahweh uses the Sabbath to KEEP US.

In Jeremiah, Yahweh told the people of Judah:

Jeremiah 17:20 - And say unto them, Hear ye the word of YAHWEH, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:

Jeremiah 17:21 - Thus saith YAHWEH; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;

Jeremiah 17:22 - Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.

Jeremiah 17:23 - But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.

Jeremiah 17:24 - And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith YAHWEH, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein;

Jeremiah 17:25 - Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain forever.

Jeremiah 17:26 - And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of YAHWEH.

Jeremiah 17:27 - But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

How important is the Sabbath to Yahweh? This should teach us clearly!

Yahweh said that it would make the difference as to whether He would destroy Jerusalem or keep it safe, protected, with kings reigning from it forever.

Yahweh knows that if you will keep the Sabbath, you will then "Delight yourself in Yahweh"

Because His word will be sown in your heart, and His word will not return to Him void. Just give Him His day!

Isaiah 58:14 - Then shalt thou delight thyself in YAHWEH; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of YAHWEH hath spoken it.

The heritage of Jacob is life in the promised land forever.

Now one of the most common excuses to disobey Yahweh's commandment to keep the Sabbath is that "it is the one commandment out of the Ten that isn't repeated in the New Testament"

Actually this is not true, for the New Testament never specifically repeats the commandment "Do not take the name of Yahweh in vain."

Either way, Yahushua and the Apostles didn't need to go around telling people to keep the Sabbath. It was the way of life in those days!

There are a number of things that are not repeated in the NT, but are still observed by mainstream Christians today.

For instance, there is no commandment in the New Testament forbidding a woman to wear a man's garment. There is no commandment forbidding bestiality, tatoos, being cruel to animals, taking interest from brethren, taking bribes, etc.

There is no commandment in the NT that says a person should take 10% of their income and give it to the church, but don't you dare say that is done away with!

Brethren, there are a host of excuses as to why people don't want to do what Yahweh says. Let's not fall prey to any of them, but rather reprove the unfruitful works of darkness.

Another popular one of late is the doctrine that "the Messiah is our Sabbath now" and "now we rest in Him."

But notice that Yahweh said "Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work". It never says "7 days shalt thou rest". It is a very plain and easy to understand commandment, is it not?

Whether we believe in Messiah or not, we all know that we need to work for a living. And we all know that if we tried to work every single day, our bodies would be exhausted and unhealthy

The above commandment even says that our animals need rest too.

Now suppose you were a farmer living in the early 1900's. Could you claim that your animals were keeping the Sabbath by "resting in Messiah" while you had them plowing your fields on the Sabbath?

Neither can anyone claim to be keeping the Sabbath by "resting in Messiah" when they go to work on that day.

It is true that Messiah gives us rest in the age to come, and that we will rest in Him after man's 6000 years of work on this earth

But just because there is a spiritual representation of a clear command of scripture, it does not mean we are free to disobey what the commandment clearly says.

We were clearly commanded to be baptized, yet we all know it has a spiritual meaning that is very important. Did the apostles just "spiritualize" the commandment and say "Yeah, He said to be baptized in water but you can keep that commandment just by receiving Messiah and living a changed life". No, they baptized in water numerous times.

The truth is, we cannot "spiritually" keep a commandment while breaking it physically!

For instance, you cannot break the commandment which says "thou shalt not commit adultery" and then claim you are keeping it spiritually.

Numerous times Yahweh refers to idolatry as a form of spiritual adultery. Could one go out and physically commit adultery on his wife and claim he never broke the commandment because he didn't commit idolatry, or claim he didn't lust after her in his heart? Could He say that He didn't commit adultery because "Messiah kept that commandment for me and I am pure in Him"?

Of course not. Neither can you physically work on the Sabbath and claim you never broke it because you "rested in Messiah."

This excuse reminds me of Yahushua's parable when He said:

Matthew 21:28 - But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

Matthew 21:29 - He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

Matthew 21:30 - And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

Matthew 21:31 - Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Yahushua saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of YAHWEH before you.

Yahweh said that we are keep the Sabbath by resting from our physical labors on the 7th day of the week. Many claim "I do, sir" by "resting in Messiah", but then they don't really do what the Father said to do!

You see, the Ten Commandments really are not multiple choice!

The fact that they are written in stone signifies the finality and eternity of all ten of them.

We should be far removed from any teaching which causes one of the Ten Commandments to be sawed out, cut out, removed, changed, abolished in our hearts or set aside in any way.

It is no more acceptable to break the Sabbath every week by profaning the day He made holy than it is to commit adultery or murder once a week.

Now some claim that the Sabbath day has actually been changed to the first day of the week. s

The excuse that is commonly used to change the Sabbath to the first day of the week is: The Messiah rose on the first day of the week, so we keep that day instead.

But to this I must ask, "Rest & worship Him on the first day, then work six days? Where is this in scripture?"

The truth is, there is no scripture anywhere in the bible to support such a statement, but it is simply a justification to continue in the status quo, which was established by post-apostolic christians and later validated/enforced by the Catholic church and various rulers.

If we are going to come up with extra-biblical allegories to support our day of worship/rest, wouldn't it make more sense that we rest when He rested (when He was in the grave) and we rise to work again as the Savior did ("I go and prepare a place for you", John 14:2-3)?

But we really don't need to come up with an allegory to support the day of worship & rest. We can simply look to the Ten Commandments to find the answer.

Today, many Christians are active in spending millions of dollars to keep the Ten Commandments in the courtrooms and other public buildings and prominent places.

Yet, if you ask them if they believe in keeping the 4th commandment, few will agree that it should observed as it is written.

The truth is that we could search from Genesis to Revelation and not find a single verse that institutes a new day of worship. If it was changed, surely we would expect to find clear authorization somewhere in scripture. But it is nowhere to be found.

Therefore, by what authority has it been changed? Ask any Catholic priest and they will tell you.

During the Council of Trent in 1545, I once read that the Pope was almost ready to "set aside tradition altogether and make the Scriptures the sole standard of appeal"

But then the Archbishop of Reggio turned the Council against the Reformation by saying, "The Protestants claim to stand upon the written word only: they profess to hold the Scriptures alone as the standard of faith. They justify their revolt by the plea that the Chrurch has apostatized from the written word and follows tradition. Now the Protestant's claim that they stand upon the written word alone is not true"

Why was it not true?

Continuing..

"IF they truly hold the scriptures alone as the standard, they would be observing the Sabbath the seventh day as it is enjoined in the Scripture throughout. Yet they not onlyh reject the observance of the Sabbath as enjoined in the written word, but they have adopted and do practice the observance of Sunday, for which they have only the tradition of the (Catholic) church!"

At this argument, the council unanimously condemned Protestantism and the entire Reformation!

See, the Protestants weren't willing to let go of that much tradition.. and this remains until this day.

In the "New Testament", the first day of the week is always translated "first day of the week" and the seventh day of the week is always called "the Sabbath"

Some examples...

Acts 13:42 - And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

Acts 15:21 - For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

Acts 16:13 - And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

Acts 17:2 - And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Acts 18:4 - And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

So it is very clear which day is the Sabbath. It is not "Sunday", or the first day of the week

Therefore, since the New Testament also identifies the Sabbath with the 7th day of the week...which day of the week is the New Testament Sabbath?

And therefore, when we read the Ten Commandments which tells us to keep the Sabbath holy, which day is this?

Now some say it doesn't really matter. Just keep one day in seven.

But suppose for a moment there was a man who had seven sheep...

He commanded his son to set aside a special sheep he named "Shabbat," and he blessed the wool... and asked his son to shear it for a special use.

But then the son went and looked at the sheep and there was another sheep whose wool he liked better.

So he went and sheered the wool of another sheep and brought it to his father.

Did this son do his Father's will?

I think we know the answer.

Yahweh set aside a specific day at creation. He sanctified and blessed that particular day and it is called the Sabbath

For us to keep another day holy is a waste of time.

Because there is no other day that is holy to begin with!

If we keep another day holy, and profane the day Yahweh actually made holy... we are no more doing our Father's will than the son who sheared the wrong sheep

So rather than choosing what we think is best, I encourage everyone to consider doing what He thinks is best. The Father chose to set apart the seventh day of the week. Ought we not to do the will of our Father?

We know our Savior did just that and He is our example. We bring abundant blessings in our lives by following the example of our Saviour and keeping holy the day that our Father made holy to begin with

Proverbs 14:12 - There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Don't believe the lie that deceived Eve in the garden, "Hath Yahweh said (you shall keep the Sabbath on the 7th day)?"

Satan is constantly looking for ways to cause people to break Yahweh's commands

Yahweh has said for us to keep the Sabbath day holy. He didn't set it apart at creation and ask us to remember it, only to tell us later to forget about it or keep another day!

Matthew 5:19 - Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Yahushua meant every word He said, yes?

And He also set an example for us, that we should walk in His steps.

1John 2:6 - He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

So if Yahushua lives in you... bring abundant blessings in your life by following the footsteps of our Saviour and start keeping holy the day that our Father made holy, and Yahushua Himself kept holy.

It is high time that men listen to the Father and keep holy what He made holy! We need to understand the difference between the holy and the common!

Yahweh wants our time, brethren

And He appointed a day for us to come together as His people.

Let's forsake the traditions and commandments of men and let's walk in truth of Yahweh.

The original is always the best, accept no substitutes.

May Yahweh bless you and have mercy on us all!

Y_and_T - aren't we all :)
Y_and_T - I still have plenty to learn
Gilah - um, in Old Conevant, it says that we will be killed if not in obedient to sabbath, and in Renewed convenant, it's grace.. is this correct? or am i miunderstood?
Y_and_T - keeps me humble
decrease - +rom 3 31
yahusef_kol-debash - grace is also found in old
barleyplants - HalleluYah!
decrease - +rom 10 17
Gilah - yes... grace is found in Old.. but why were these people killed as in stoned ?
Y_and_T - Yahushua took the penalty for us HalleluYah
EliYah - The death penalty is a righteous judgment for Sabbath breaking, but praises to Yahweh that our sin was laid on Yahushua so that we would be delivered from death.
Y_and_T - he was sin offering for us
barleyplants - Thank you Sweet Yahushua!
Gilah - also.. what realy does eye for an eye mean.. and tooth for tooth mean? does it no longer apply in new convenant?
EliYah - Nevertheless, the death penalty was the civil punishment for the crime of Sabbath breaking.. much like those who murder today are given the death penalty
Gilah - ah, I understand now, EliYah
EliYah - It is still a righteous sentence for breaking this command. But our governments don't follow it.
seraphimic - there is a harmonious relationship between the law and Yahuah's favor......we are no longer under the "curse of the law" but now under Yahuah's favor through his son Yahushua
Y_and_T - We have no Judge nor temple to follow it either
Gilah - but we are still to observe the law, but we aren't stoned anymore, but under grace when we sin.. correct?
seraphimic - to no longer be under the curse of the law is not a license to transgress the law.........
Shachar - "Six days a week we wrestle with the world, wringing profit from the earth; on the Sabbath we especially care for the seeds of eternity planted in the soul. The world has our hands, but our soul belongs to Someone Else" Abraham Joshua Heschel
Gilah - isn't Yahshua amazing?
Y_and_T - Yes He is
Y_and_T - HalleluYah
EliYah - The stoning, etc. was sentencing guidelines for the judges of Israel. It wasn't intended that people go around with vigilante justice and stone every sinner they see. Crimes had to be brought before judges, just like in our own societies today.
Gilah - is it ok to call Yahshua or should I say Yahushua?
Y_and_T - What a great gift Yahushua is from Yahweh
bluesun - thanks for sharing, Shachar :)
Y_and_T - now that is mercy
EliYah - Call Him what you believe to be correct, Gilah
Gilah - i know for sure.. it is not J---- smile
EliYah - yes
EliYah - :)
Y_and_T - mmm Jdashes? lol
