Matthew 13:19 - When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
Matthew 13:20 - But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
Matthew 13:21 - Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
Matthew 13:22 - He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
Matthew 13:23 - But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Matthew 13:24 - Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
Matthew 13:25 - But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Matthew 13:26 - But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Matthew 13:27 - So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
Matthew 13:28 - He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
Matthew 13:29 - But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Matthew 7:15 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Matthew 7:16 - Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Matthew 7:17 - Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Matthew 7:18 - A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Matthew 7:19 - Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Matthew 7:20 - Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Are we the good ground?
The seeds of the enemy bring tares
They bring bad fruit
Because they are not planting a good tree
Beware of evil words!
Luke 8:11 - Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of YAHWEH.
Matthew 4:4 - But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of YAHWEH.
We know the false prophets by the fruits they bear. Are they bearing fruit from the word of Yahweh or from another's words?
There is a way to know!
First we must all abide in the vine.
John 15:4 - Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
John 15:5 - I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
And if we are abiding in Him:
1John 2:4 - He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1John 2:5 - But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of YAHWEH is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
1John 2:6 - He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
How did Yahushua walk?
Are we walking as He walked?
We know He kept every commandment of Yahweh
The seed must first die
John 12:2 - There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
John 12:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
John 12:25 - He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
John 12:26 - If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
When it falls to the ground and dies... it brings forth fruit
The Word.. Yahushua was put to death, but was raised again because it was impossible for the grave to hold Him
Through His death, He seeks to bear fruit in us
In order for our physical bodies to live, something else must die
Whether it be an animal, or the cells of a vegetable, grain or fruit
So it is, that in order for us to spiritually live forever.. something must die
Yahushua needed to die, and we must participate in His death so that Yahushua can live in us
We must walk as He walked... dying to self
We are known by our fruits, as are the true prophets
We do not live in the Spirit by that which is of the flesh
Deuteronomy 8:2 - And thou shalt remember all the way which YAHWEH thy Elohim led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
Deuteronomy 8:3 - And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of YAHWEH doth man live.
Yahweh wants to know what is in our heart also. Will we keep His commandments or no?
If we need humbled, He will humble us. He teaches us that we can only live by every word the proceeds out of His mouth
Some may say that two-thirds of His word need not be something that we live by
They call it names like the "old testament"
But we shall live by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of His mouth
Those who love Him will love His word
They will seek out His word, seeking things to live by
A love for His word shows a love for Yahushua, for Yahushua is the Word made flesh
If we bear fruit, don't be discouraged if you are pruned
John 15:2 - Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
We must bear fruit, or He will take away our place
But it all begins with an ear to hear the word
How many times Yahushua would say..
Revelation 13:9 - If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
Mark 4:23 - If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
Mark 7:18 - And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
(wrong verse)
Mark 7:16 - If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
Matthew 13:43 - Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Luke 8:8 - And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
And if we do hear...
Matthew 13:16 - But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
To the proud, Yahushua said of them
Matthew 13:13 - Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Matthew 13:14 - And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Matthew 13:15 - For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Yahweh did not want them to hear
Let's always be humble, willing to hear and change anything in our lives that Yahweh wants us to change
Let's allow the word to be implanted deep within
On the good ground
The word of Yahweh will always bear good fruit.. with patience
Luke 8:15 - But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
Yahweh is very patient, waiting for the tree to bear good fruit
We also ought to be patient with one another, knowing that Yahweh is being patient with others.. .and with us !
We must also be willing learn what Yahweh wants to teach us through various trials... for it is not by bread alone that we live.
In this generation, we are in a time of plenty
Plenty of food, plenty of leisure time, plenty of a lot of things
Every opportunity is available to learn of Yahweh
His word is easily accessible and can be searched with a few keystrokes
The availability to have Yahweh's seeds, the good seeds planted in our hearts is like never before
Thus we should be partaking of His word in heavy doses
Isaiah 55:1 - Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Isaiah 55:2 - Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
The famine may soon come
Amos 8:11 - Behold, the days come, saith the Sovereign YAHWEH, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of YAHWEH:
Will we have plenty of bread if indeed it comes?
Will be wise like Joseph who stored up the grain?
His words bring life.
His words teach us how to love.
Because they are brought forth by the Spirit
The Spirit can remind us of the things which are spoken by Yahweh
But we must desire them!
As we are taught and led by the Spirit through His word ?
As we are taught and led by the Spirit through His word, we also can be taught and led by the Spirit through words that have already been written
And with what has already been written (in scripture) we can have confidence.
Many have thought they were following "the Spirit", yet the "spirit" led them away from obedience.
A strong delusion
Yahweh's Spirit never does.
In general, words are very powerful.
Often, a person's actions and mannerisms are a carbon copy of the current group of friends or those they work with.
There is wisdom in the proverb:
Proverbs 12:26 The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray.
And Paul agrees:
1Corinthians 15:33 - Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Be not deceived!
Proverbs 13:20 - He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
The very word "spirit" also means breath or wind in Hebrew. Words are "spirit".
When we are around unbelievers in our work life or have unbelievers as friends, there are subtle influences that their words can have on us. The same is true with our children and their friends/relatives. Subtle seeds that get sown. Seed which produce tares, and bad trees.
Thus, bad fruit
We need to beware of what seeds are being sown, and not walk in ignorance that there is a battle going on
Yahweh's word should have the strong influence. When we read Yahweh's word we know we can put down our guard because His word is spirit, truth and life.
John 17:17 - Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Yahushua also said:
John 6:63 - It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Perhaps some might say we have no time for hearing or reading Yahweh's words
This isn't true. We all have the same time in any given day
We all have 24 hours in which we make choices of what we will do with our time
Yahweh certainly provided us with time if we are obedient to His command to keep the Sabbath.
Yahweh wants all His people to rest and keep holy the Sabbath.
When we do, the Sabbath keeps us...just as we keep it!
It helps to ensure that we are strong in Him and filled with His word
Today, the common soil brings up many thorns to choke one's growth.
Satan has a vast array of alternative ways of spending our time.
The cares of this life...
Organizing or managing our riches, spending excessive time working to accumulate more riches, and spending our riches on various pleasures that do not profit are quite common today.
Why? Most of us are living in a time of unprecedented wealth. The standard of living is higher than at any time in history
And so there are numerous entertainments in the world to take our eyes off of Yahweh
Distractions abound in this age. Let's seek to separate ourselves from the things of futility and vanity.
This week, many of us have been greatly blessed by having time to fellowship with other believers in Yahweh during the feast.
It can hardly be calculated how much damage the TV has done to society
Now, the TV itself isn't evil.
It's simply a box of wires and circuits
But the "programming" that you find on the "channels" are very destructive.
There is a good reason why it's called "programming"
You might even call it "channeling" for it channels all kinds of wicked spirits/words right into your home.
There are a multitude of channels out there to tune into.
A brother pointed out to me a few years ago that a magicians wand is made out of "Holly wood"
So evil men use their "Holly wood" to "program" all the people through their "Channeling" so that others can receive their words (spirits) and sit "spellbound" for hours.
Of course, it is all cast in a positive or 'harmless'/subtle ways.
But Yahweh says:
Proverbs 4:23 - Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Proverbs 4:24 - Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
Let's put away the froward/perverse household idols
Keeping our eyes on that which is good
Proverbs 4:25 - Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
Proverbs 4:26 - Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
Proverbs 4:27 - Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
You won't have the television on very long before you will see perverse lips and froward mouths
We don't want that in our house!
David said:
Psalms 101:3 - I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
Psalms 101:4 - A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
Psalms 101:5 - Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
David hated the things that Yahweh hated. He also knew that when a person watches wickedness, it has the ability to 'cleave' to us. The Hebrew word that is translated 'cleave' is the same Hebrew word that is used to describe a man leaving his father and mother to 'cleave' unto his wife.
Do we want wickedness to cleave to us? If not, we should not watch it. Especially for entertainment!
Some might think that their favorite program is harmless
Even if it was, you need to sit through the abominable commercials
Brethren, the worldly spirit is alive and well. We don't need to be putting it into our garden
Let's fill our garden with seeds that come from Yahweh
Yahweh hates even a proud look. Shouldn't we also? If it is His Spirit in us, shouldn't we hate those things?
How then can anyone stand to be around it while filled with the Spirit of Yahweh?
Even the news might is often laden with of slander and foolish gossip
Psalms 101:5 - Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
Psalms 101:6 - Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
Brethren, the faithful of the land is what you want in your house.
The television with its programmers "worketh deceit" and "telleth lies".
I say we don't really need it! There are other ways of getting any news we might need.
The Internet enables you to at least pick and choose what news stories you want to read. The TV forces one story after another upon your soul
If you seek it, there is plenty of wickedness to even greater degrees on the Internet also
For this reason, I personally believe the Internet will be the biggest contributor to destroying morality in the future days. Probably the most destructive thing ever created
Yet also a great capability for proclaiming Yahweh's goodness
King David ruled his house with the mindset of purity and fear of Yahweh. Thus he also ruled Israel with righteousness and integrity (1Kings 9:4). For that, Yahweh blessed this man after His own heart.
When this man after Yahweh's own heart fell, it was through a temptation which came through the eyes
Job was wiser in this regard
Job 31:1 - I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?
The world with its thorns chokes us, making us unfruitful. The great choker must be cast away. The thief that robs us of our time when time is so short must be silenced!
Though we live in the world, we don't need to pump the worldly poison into our homes. For those who do it, most of the time they don't even know it. It's "Subtle".. like one in the garden of eden
The world's programs and web sites are subtle and suggestive, like one in the garden of eden
Let's be wise and have no part of the serpent in our house!
Brethren, it is time that we put down the toys, cast away the waste and folly, and pick up the word of Yahweh so that we might be spiritually prepared for the days ahead.
There is no time to waste
Let's ask ourselves often..What new conviction toward obedience has the Spirit revealed to me lately?
Continually learning new things that draw us closer in the way of righteousness is a sign that Yahweh is working in our lives.
It's a sign that we are being led by His Spirit and we are being molded into the image of Yahushua the Messiah
What is Yahushua doing in our lives at this time?
Are we growing in obedience or walking slowly toward less obedience?
Are we going backwards in areas of conviction?
Are we starting to lose conviction in areas we used to be strong?
Let's ask ourselves?
Am I spending time alone with Yahweh in His word and in prayer?
Is my thought life pure?
Has there been a time where I put Yahweh on the 'back burner' (second place) ?
Am I walking in total obedience to Yahweh? (Partial obedience is disobedience!)
Am I passing by opportunities to show another person love?
We must pay close attention to what we allow ourselves to see and hear.
For what we see and what we ear can influence our thoughts
And unrighteous thoughts lead to unrighteous actions
Unrighteous actions bring about unrighteous character
Unrighteous character can determine our eternal fate
We must be on guard and let spiritual things encompass our thoughts and desires.
Let's set our affections on things that are pure
Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Watching TV, listening to the radio, surfing the internet, talking to worldly people, and reading worldly magazines are all fertile soil for unrighteous thoughts to be sown.
For we often do not realize the spiritual battles that are happening when we 'saw that commercial' or 'read that article' or saw that "popup ad!"
Doors are being opened to the enemy, doors that we don't want to be opened
Breaches in the wall of our city of peace
We often do not realize that these things war against Yahweh's Spirit!
We must be on guard!
Ephesians 6:11 - Put on the whole armor of Elohim, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:12 - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:13 - Therefore take up the whole armor of Elohim, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:14 - Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Ephesians 6:15 - and having shod your feet with the preparation of the glad tidings of peace;
Ephesians 6:16 - above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
Ephesians 6:17 - And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of YAHWEH;
Ephesians 6:18 - praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--
We are in a spiritual battle, brethren. We need to know how to do battle against the enemy
If we want to avoid unnecessary battles, let's avoid filling ourselves with his worldly spirit!
Let's not waste our time in things that do not profit. Remember that any works that are not eternal are waste and void...they WILL NOT profit us in Yahweh's kingdom.
Let's purge out the waste and move on in the Spirit!
Does the bride not purify herself in preparation for the bridegroom?
If we knew that Yahushua was really coming tomorrow, what waste would we throw out?
Would we not be preparing ourselves!??
What bride while purifying herself for the bridegroom would dig through a dumpster to find something worthwhile to use?
Let's forsake the dumpsters of this world and cleave to the purity of Yahushua's example!
Job 14:4 - Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
Let's get rid of the thorny/wordly cares and cleave unto holiness, purity and the important things in life!
1Peter 1:18 - knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,
1Peter 1:19 - but with the precious blood of the Messiah, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
1Peter 1:20 - He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you
1Peter 1:21 - who through Him believe in YAHWEH, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in YAHWEH.
1Peter 1:22 - Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,
1Peter 1:23 - having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of YAHWEH which lives and abides forever,
1Peter 1:24 - because "All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away,
1Peter 1:25 - But the word of YAHWEH endures forever." Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
1Peter 2:1 - Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
1Peter 2:2 - as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
1Peter 2:3 - if indeed you have tasted that YAHWEH is kind.
I have tasted, you have tasted
His food is set before us, let us eat.
The Way of true life is before us... let us grow
For only then will we bear good fruit unto Yahweh our Elohim.. a fruit offering that is pleasing to Him.
May Yahweh bless you and have mercy on us all!
