HalleluYah!!!

The foundation...

1Corinthians 3:11 - For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Yahushua the Messiah.

Yahushua the Messiah is our foundation..

Ephesians 2:20 - having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Yahushua the Messiah Himself being the chief corner[stone],

Ephesians 2:21 - in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in YAHWEH,

Ephesians 2:22 - in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of Elohim in the Spirit.

Tonight I would like to examine some of the other scriptures regarding Yahushua, so that we can be assured that we are on a firm foundation.

For brethren, you need to know that the anti-missionaries are out in full force...especially on the internet.

Anti-Missionaries are anti-Messiah believers in Judaism who are seeking to draw men away from Yahushua the Messiah. Some of them are former believers in Yahushua.

But because most of them are Jews and because so many people are coming to the "Messianic" faith, there are many who put alot of confidence in followers of mainstream Judaism when it comes to understanding Torah

After all, they have been keeping Torah for thousands of years.. shouldn't they be able to teach us something?

Sometimes yes

But actually there is a real danger here in following the "Rabbis"

While they might know some things about the Torah, they are missing the big picture...

The big picture is Yahushua the Messiah!

As a result, they are going to have a flawed understanding of the Torah, the prophets and the writings ('Old testament').

John 5:45 - Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

John 5:46 - For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

John 5:47 - But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

We need to realize that according to Yahushua, they don't really even believe Moshe

For if they did, they would believe in Yahushua also.

Missing Yahushua in their understandings, they miss a lot!

Yet, they are often quoted by "Messianic" believers and Messianic believer even have their own "Rabbis"

But which of the apostles ever called themselves a "Rabbi"?

Not even one

And not one person in the first century assembly is recorded as being called a "Rabbi" nor is there any record of anyone calling someone other than Yahushua their "Rabbi"

I say not these things to condemn, but rather to point out there is an significant error in understanding here.

And some of this misled understanding can lead to bigger things.

And I don't mean bigger as in better... I mean bigger misunderstandings!

With the focus on learning from the unbelieving "Rabbis," a false confidence arises

And believers end up looking to unbelievers for scriptural instruction...a dangerous thing to do for anyone.

Also...

There are those out there who look like us and act like us but they doubt the authenticity of Paul's writings.

They say this because they think Paul taught the Torah was not for today, or they believe that Paul is a false apostle

However, this is not true at all! (See http://www.eliyah.com/law.html )

They will often teach that there was no virgin birth. But the scriptures are clear that there was

I have found that once a person rejects Paul, then they have to question Luke who was Paul's traveling companion throughout the book of Acts

So out goes all of Paul's writings, then Luke and Acts

Then Peter's writings also get tossed out because he indicated Paul's writings were scripture (2Pet 3:15)

Thus, the scriptures as we know it are undermined

The danger here is this...

Anytime we pick and choose what scriptures we want to believe we end up taking the foundation right out from underneath us.

All of a sudden we can create our own path of truth that seems right in our own eyes, choosing which scriptures we want to believe and which ones we want to not believe

Thus, we mold Yahweh into whatever image we want Him to be, or believe that He is.

As a result, many claim that "it must line up with the Torah, so this new testament verse here must be spurious"

But the real problem isn't that the 'new testament' is riddled with insertions and errors, the real problem is that they do not know the Torah!

If you are new to this walk and came from mainstream churchianity, the chances are good that you don't know the Torah that well. The churches simply ignore the Torah for the most part.

For this reason, many fall away quickly when they come in contact with those who reject Paul, the virgin birth and/or Yahushua the Messiah.

We should all should beware of any who would undermine the foundation of our faith.. the Word of Yahweh.

All false doctrine has this in common

For those who go the anti-Paul route, they will typically soon be denying Yahushua.. who is the Word of Yahweh/

When you throw out the Word of Yahweh, anything goes. You can come up with any doctrine you want to because there is no authority

Mainstream Christianity is in error because they reject the "Old Testament" portion of Yahweh's word as having any bearing on their lives

And Mainstream Judaism is in error because they reject the "New Testament" portion of Yahweh's word as having any bearing on their lives

But it is ALL Yahweh's word, and important !

In truth, you cannot accept one and deny the other. For if you deny either the Old or New, you deny both

For those who knew the truth of Yahushua but then walk away and deny Him, a new elohim is molded and worshiped.. one that they form themselves.. often based on their suspicions and corrupt minds.

Scripture says:

Hebrews 6:4 - For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,

Hebrews 6:5 - and have tasted the good word of YAHWEH and the powers of the age to come,

Hebrews 6:6 - if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of YAHWEH, and put Him to an open shame.

Hebrews 6:7 - For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from Elohim;

Hebrews 6:8 - but if it bears thorns and briars, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.

I have never seen one who truly knew Yahushua and received the Torah and walked this walk, and later denied Him as we described... to return back the way he came and receive Yahushua again

It is a dangerous choice to make and I have seen many fall!

What should our reaction be to those who have decided to reject Yahushua?

2John 1:7 - For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Yahushua the Messiah as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antiMessiah.

2John 1:8 - Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.

2John 1:9 - Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of the Messiah does not have YAHWEH. He who abides in the doctrine of MESSIAH has both the Father and the Son.

(Speaking of one who once knew Yahushua but failed to abide in Him... by walking away from Him and no longer confessing He is the Messiah come in the flesh)

2John 1:10 - If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;

2John 1:11 - for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

While it can be discouraging to see that there are some out there who think they are on the narrow way by rejecting Yahushua, we should not be surprised.

1Corinthians 11:19 - For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

1John 2:18 - Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the AntiMessiah is coming, even now many antiMessiahs have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

1John 2:19 - They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

To those of you who have not come across these kinds of people, this may sound strange to your ears.

But please consider it when I say to you...

We do need to beware and know where we stand in Messiah!

In the USA and other countries where Christianity is prevalent, it is assumed that Yahushua is the Messiah because we are raised in a culture that makes that assumption

But there is a deception out there that is strong. A deception that blinded the eyes of the descendants of Abraham for nearly 2000 years

We need to beware and have a solid foundation in His word. I'm letting you know ahead of time so that you will be prepared and will have your foundation laid

For how many among us right now, if given the opportunity, could prove that Yahushua is the Messiah strictly from the Old Testament/Tanakh scriptures?

Few of us could. Yet, all throughout what is called the "New Testament", we read that the disciples were able to prove Yahushua is the Messiah using the Torah & Prophets.

They had no "new testament" to read from. As one teacher noted, Paul couldn't just walk into a synagogue and say "Yahushua is the Messiah! The proof is that I wrote it to the Romans last week!"

We need to know why He is the Messiah, from the scriptures known as the "Old Testament"

They did!

Consider:

Acts 18:28 - For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Yahushua was the Messiah.

Acts 9:22 - But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is the Messiah.

Acts 28:23 - And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of YAHWEH, persuading them concerning Yahushua, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

How about us? How grounded are we in the scriptures that prove Yahushua is the Messiah?

Can we demonstrate from the "Old Testament" or Tanakh that He is the Messiah? If we cannot, how could we ever even begin to witness to the descendants of Abraham who do not believe in Him?

Romans 11:13 - For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

Romans 11:14 - If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

Romans 11:15 - For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

There wasn't much in paganized, pork eating, Sabbath breaking, Torah abolishing Christianity to provoke a Jewish man to jealousy.

We are the lone witnesses of what Yahushua is really like!

We ought to know this topic well

Romans 11:15 - For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

So let's dig into the Tanakh/Old Testament and see what we can find

To recognize the Messiah, we must first determine what the scriptures say this Messiah will be like.

Although there are some scriptures that describe the Messiah as one conquering and ruling the world, we cannot ignore others that describe Him also as a meek Servant who would suffer for our iniquities.

Isaiah 52:13 - Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

Isaiah 52:14 - As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

Isaiah 52:15 - So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

Isaiah 53:1 - Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of YAHWEH revealed?

Isaiah 53:2 - For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

Isaiah 53:3 - He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Isaiah 53:4 - Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of Elohim, and afflicted.

Isaiah 53:5 - But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:6 - All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and YAHWEH hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah 53:7 - He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Isaiah 53:8 - He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

Isaiah 53:9 - And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Isaiah 53:10 - Yet it pleased YAHWEH to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of YAHWEH shall prosper in his hand.

Isaiah 53:11 - He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Isaiah 53:12 - Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

So here we have a very detailed description of one called Yahweh's Servant. In just 15 verses there are at least 58 characteristics of this Servant.

If this Servant if Isaiah 53 is the Messiah, other messianic prophecies must also be consistent with this description.

Are there any other scriptures in Isaiah that identify the Messiah as Yahweh's "Servant"?

Yes:

Isaiah 42:1 - Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Isaiah 42:2 - He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.

Isaiah 42:3 - A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

Isaiah 42:4 - He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

Isaiah 42:5 - Thus saith El YAHWEH, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

Isaiah 42:6 - I YAHWEH have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

We see here that this servant will be given 'for a covenant of the people' and 'for a light of the Gentiles'

Isaiah 11:1 - And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

Isaiah 11:2 - And the spirit of YAHWEH shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YAHWEH;

Notice that the Spirit of Yahweh is upon Him, much like we saw in Isaiah 42:1

Isaiah 11:3 - And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of YAHWEH: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

Notice here also he establishes judgment in the earth, much like in Isaiah 42:4

Isaiah 11:4 - But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

Isaiah 11:5 - And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

He is called in righteousness in Isaia 42:6, and righteousness is the girdle of his loins in Isaiah 11:5

Isaiah 11:6 - The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

Isaiah 11:7 - And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

Isaiah 11:8 - And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

Isaiah 11:9 - They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of YAHWEH, as the waters cover the sea.

Isaiah 11:10 - And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Again we see a parallel in verse 10. The root of Jessie, the Messiah, is an ensign to the Gentiles... just like He is a light to the Gentiles in Isaiah 42:6

Isaiah 42:1 - Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Indeed we have identified the servant of Yahweh

But let's confirm this even more. We read in Isaiah 53 that the Servant is one who suffers.

Let's read this also in Isaiah 50:

Isaiah 50:1 - Thus saith YAHWEH, Where is the bill of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

Isaiah 50:2 - Wherfore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.

Isaiah 50:3 - I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.

Isaiah 50:4 - the Master YAHWEH hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

Isaiah 50:5 - The Master YAHWEH hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.

The righteous Servant, much like in Isaiah 53

Isaiah 50:6 - I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

But look what else:

Isaiah 50:7 - For the Master YAHWEH will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

Isaiah 50:8 - He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.

Isaiah 50:9 - Behold, the Master YAHWEH will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

Isaiah 50:10 - Who is among you that feareth YAHWEH, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of YAHWEH, and stay upon his Elohim.

Isaiah 50:11 - Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.

Be assured, you don't want to contend with this Servant. He will be extolled and exalted very high. He will rule the nations with a rod of iron and judgment will be commited to Him. Thus, we have a picture of a suffering Servant, but also one who can inflict judgment in Isaiah 50:11. "This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow."

Woe to the man who contends with Him! The use of the term "Servant" in verse 10 confirms who is being described here. It is the same one as in Isaiah 53

But why did this Servant need to suffer?

Let's now examine some scriptures that deal with "The Righteousness of Yahweh"

If this Servant in Isaiah 53 is to be identified as the Messiah, then we know that this Servant was a "trespass/guilt offering" (53:10) for others. What does this mean?

How can a person be a trespass/guilt offering? What is the purpose of a trespass offering?

Here is an example in the Torah:

Leviticus 19:20 - And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

Leviticus 19:21 - And he shall bring his trespass offering unto YAHWEH, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.

Leviticus 19:22 - And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before YAHWEH for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

So we read that the purpose of a trespass offering is for atonement and forgiveness of sin.

We read earlier that the Servant of Isaiah 53 will be a "trespass offering" and will "justify many", and it was He that would "bear our sins".

Isaiah 53:11 - He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Isaiah 53:10 - Yet it pleased YAHWEH to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of YAHWEH shall prosper in his hand.

Could we then conclude that it is this Servant that brings us atonement, forgiveness, righteousness and salvation through this offering?

We do know that in order for one to be acceptable to Yahweh, they must be righteous.

The only way we can be declared righteous is if we have our sins forgiven, for every single one of us has sinned at some point in our life

Are there any examples in scripture that speak of the Messiah bringing righteousness to Yahweh's people through the "trespass offering" that will "justify many"?

Let's first examine some verses which discuss the righteousness of Yahweh.

Isaiah 54:17 - No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of YAHWEH, and their righteousness is of me, saith YAHWEH.

It is clear that from reading the above verse, that Yahweh says our righteousness comes from Him. In fact, it is our heritage!

Being unclean sinners, how do we get Yahweh's righteousness in us?

Are there any scriptures that indicate that we would get the righteousness of Yahweh through His Messiah? Let's see... for starters:

Jeremiah 23:5 - Behold, the days come, saith YAHWEH, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

Jeremiah 23:6 - In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, YAHWEH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

The Messiah is called "Yahweh OUR Righteousness" because He is the One through whom Yahweh brought us His righteousness

The above verse is consistent other scriptures already discussed proving that the Messiah will be a "righteous servant" that will "justify many" (Isa. 53:11) and will be a "trespass offering" and thus bring atonement and forgiveness of sin (Isa 53:10, Lev. 19).

But there are other scriptures too that speak of the righteousness of Yahweh and how the Messiah will bring it to Yahweh's people

Isaiah 45:23 - I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Isaiah 45:24 - Surely, shall one say, in YAHWEH have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

Isaiah 45:25 - In YAHWEH shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

When Yahweh swears an oath, we would do well to listen. He swore an oath to Abraham and look at all that Yahweh did to keep that oath! He did so here.

Part of the above oath was that people would say "'Surely in Yahweh I have righteousness and strength".

Notice later in the verse that it says "in Yahweh" shall all the descendants of Israel be justified.

This is consistent with Isaiah 53:11 which says that this Righteous Servant will "Justify many".

Isaiah 53:11 - He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Because this Messianic Servant was truly righteous, he is an acceptable "trespass offering" without blemish and is able to "bear our iniquities". This is also why the Messiah is called "Yahweh our Righteousness".

Yahweh shows us the need for an intercessor in Isaiah 59 :

Isaiah 59:15 - Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and YAHWEH saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

Isaiah 59:16 - And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

These verses are quite similar to the ones we have discussed so far. Here, Yahweh "wondered that there was no intercessor". Isaiah 53 states that this servant "made intercession for the transgressors."

Also it says here that it is "His righteousness" that "sustains" Yahweh. This is like Jeremiah 23 that where Messiah is called "Yahweh our righteousness".

It is only Yahweh's own righteousness through this Servant that will make us good enough to please Him.

Notice also that Yahweh said in the above verses "His arm brought salvation unto Him".

Here, the Messiah is likened to the Arm of Yahweh. We will find this symbolism in many other Messianic prophecies. For instance:

Isaiah 40:10 - Behold, the Master YAHWEH will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

If Yahweh's 'arm' will rule for him, it must mean that Yahweh Himself will not rule (although Yahweh ultimately rules all, it is His arm).

But to whom will the arm of Yahweh be revealed?

Isaiah 53:1 - Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of YAHWEH revealed?

Note that this is from the Isaiah 53 segment we read earlier.

The Arm of Yahweh, the Righteousness of Yahweh and the real Servant of Yahweh is beginning to take shape... and we have yet to look at a single "New Testament" scripture.

Isaiah 40:10 - Behold, the Master YAHWEH will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Isaiah 40:11 - He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

..

Isaiah 59:17 - For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.

Isaiah 59:18 - According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

Again, we read about Righteous One bringing righteousness and judgment

We will later discuss how the Messiah will recompense his enemies, but this lines up with a previous scripture we examined (Isaiah 50) where the Messiah said "This you shall have from My hand: You shall lie down in sorrow/torment"

continuing..

Isaiah 59:19 - So shall they fear the name of YAHWEH from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of YAHWEH shall lift up a standard against him.

Isaiah 59:20 - And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith YAHWEH.

Isaiah 59:21 - As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith YAHWEH; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith YAHWEH, from henceforth and for ever.

We see here that as a result of this salvation that the Messiah brings, there will be a new covenant.

We read about this earlier.. the Servant in Isaiah 42:

Isaiah 42:6 - I YAHWEH have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

Much of these prophecies are from the book of Isaiah, a book of which we have a copy dating back to 200 BC!

That's 200 years before Yahushua even came to earth

This covenant is the same covenant spoken of in Jeremiah 31:

Jeremiah 31:31 - Behold, the days come, saith YAHWEH, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

Jeremiah 31:32 - Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith YAHWEH:

Jeremiah 31:33 - But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith YAHWEH, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people.

In this passage we see that His law, His words are written on the hearts of Israel and Judah. Therefore this speaks of the same covenant as Isaiah 59.

Here is yet another scripture that will agree with what we have read so far:

Isaiah 61:1 - The Spirit of the Master YAHWEH is upon me; because YAHWEH hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Isaiah 61:2 - To proclaim the acceptable year of YAHWEH, and the day of vengeance of our Elohim; to comfort all that mourn;

Isaiah 61:3 - To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of YAHWEH, that he might be glorified.

He is called Yahweh's anointed (Messiah) in verse. He is not "OUR Messiah", He is Yahweh's Messiah (Anointed one)

Isaiah 61:4 - And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

Isaiah 61:5 - And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

Isaiah 61:6 - But ye shall be named the Priests of YAHWEH: men shall call you the Ministers of our Elohim: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

Isaiah 61:7 - For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

Isaiah 61:8 - For I YAHWEH love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

A covenant

Isaiah 61:9 - And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which YAHWEH hath blessed.

Isaiah 61:10 - I will greatly rejoice in YAHWEH, my soul shall be joyful in my Elohim; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Yet again, we see that Yahweh is the one who is bringing righteousness to His people. Yahweh is clothing his people with righteousness. And yet again, we see that a covenant is predicted.

So to recap so far, we have established that the Messiah will be a "trespass offering" and thus bring us the "Righteousness of Yahweh".

Psalms 98:1 - O sing unto YAHWEH a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

His right hand, His holy arm, His MESSIAH has gotten Him the victory!

Psalms 98:2 - YAHWEH hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.

Through Him, salvation and righteousness is made known to the heathen/gentiles

Yet, we know it was hidden from the Jewish people

For the arm of Yahweh was not revealed to all

Psalms 98:3 - He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our Elohim.

But He will remember His mercy toward them... that all the ends of the earth see the salvation of our Elohim.

For this, there is much reason to rejoice!

Psalms 98:4 - Make a joyful noise unto YAHWEH, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Psalms 98:5 - Sing unto YAHWEH with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.

Psalms 98:6 - With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before YAHWEH, the King.

Psalms 98:7 - Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Psalms 98:8 - Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

Psalms 98:9 - Before YAHWEH; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

"With righteousness shall he judge the world" just as we read that Messiah would do:

Isaiah 11:4 - But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

There are many other scriptures to examine. But we have seen enough to catch a glimpse of the true attributes of the Messiah. Lets compare the record of One called Yahushua the Messiah:

John 10:24 - Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Messiah, tell us plainly.

John 10:25 - Yahushua answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

John 10:26 - But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

Just like the chronicles of the Tanakh/Old Testament (and unlike mythology), much of the people, places and events that centered around the life of Yahushua the Messiah have been verified with archaeological and other historical data

A Spirit led, solid and in depth study of Matthew through Revelation will reveal the consistency these scriptures have with the Tanakh/Old Testament.

However, if we misunderstand the Tanakh, then we will likely also misunderstand Matthew-Revelation. This is because the Tanakh is the very foundation of these writings.

On this web site you will find a line by line comparison of Isaiah 53 and the scriptures proving Yahushua fulfilled it in the "new testament" ( http://www.eliyah.com/themessiah.html ) as well as many more prophecies discussed.

But even as powerful and convincing as all these scriptures are, for brevity's sake many other scriptures have not been included in these studies.

What other scriptures?

Scriptures showing that the Messiah would have to be born somewhere around the year 0, that His name would be Yahushua, that he would be preceded by a forerunner, that He would speak in parables, that He would humbly enter Jerusalem riding on a donkey...

Scriptures showing that He would be betrayed by a close friend for thirty pieces of silver, that he would be pierced in his hands and feet, that his bones would not be broken, that people would cast lots for His clothing...

...and that He would be not be left to corruption in the grave but would be quickly resurrected.

Also there is all the awesome imagery in the Feasts of Yahweh, the men whose lives mirrored Yahushua's. Moshe for example

One thing that is never prophesied the Messiah would do is abolish the Torah/Law. How could such a thing be? He IS the Word.

Isaiah 42:21 - YAHWEH is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

And in fact, His law is to be written in our hearts as a result of what He did.

The one we often hear about one called "Jesus" that might have done away with the Torah, but Yahushua truly did not.

Yahushua promoted Torah observance such as keeping the Sabbath, keeping feasts such as Passover, Pentecost and the Feast of Tabernacles.. Not vain traditions such as Christmas, Easter and Sunday "church" services.

As the scriptures predicted in Psalm 110, Yahushua is at the right hand of Yahweh right now.

Who among us will let Yahushua make intercession so that we may receive Yahweh's righteousness?

Do we hear the call?

Are we willing to walk in the high calling?

Who among us will recognize the great love that Yahweh has shown for us in giving us His Son?

Who among us will respond to that love with acceptance of His undeniable, predicted plan of salvation?

Who among us will respond to that love by loving Him and our fellow man in return, by seeking to live according to Yahushua's righteous example and walk in the Torah keeping pattern that He set for us?

Will we receive Yahweh's plan of salvation and the One through whom He chose to implement it, or will we turn Him away?

We must receive Him or join the ranks of his enemies. There is no middle ground. As we read in Isaiah 50, we do not want to be His enemy!

Rather, because He was perfect in every way.. we should be imitators of Him.. walking in righteousness, walking in love, walking in the Spirit which He promises to those who Repent and receive Him.

Acts 2:38 - Then Kepha said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahushua the Messiah for the forgiveness of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:39 - For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as YAHWEH our Elohim shall call.

If you sense to calling of Yahweh upon you, do not fight it.

Receive it, for it is a life and death matter that affects the trillions of years into eternity

Let's choose Him, choosing life, choosing to overcome and denying this temporary age we live in.. seeking the eternal things!

Revelation 12:11 - "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Revelation 14:12 - Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of YAHWEH and the faith of Yahushua.

Let's seek to be among His saints, the ones who not only keep the commandments, but also the faith of Yahushua.

For in the end, it will be revealed that His people are those who do just that.

May we always be among His people, cleaving to the Word of Life and believing in the mercy and righteousness of Yahweh that we receive through Yahushua the Messiah...

...and may Yahweh bless you and have mercy on us all!
