HalleluYah. Blessed be the name of Yahweh. Part of the reason why there is such a restoration today is because of the availability of information. Never in the history of mankind has information and knowledge been so readily available by so many.
I was pretty amazed in 1995 when I first discovered the internet and the amount of information that could be accessed. To me it just seemed like anything you could possibly want to know was available to you.
Since then, the information superhighway, they call it, has grown exponentially and information is available at ever-faster speeds, and so there is today a lot of knowledge about our world and knowledge about the sciences that seek to understand it.
Just yesterday I was watching a video of how the flu virus spreads into the body, and all the graphics and representations and different things of knowledge that man has gained through his study of the human body is pretty amazing.
If you really think about it, our bodies are just a living miracle, so incredibly complex. It's really, truly amazing. There's all kinds of information available out there today. Some of the things you want to know about, and some things you may not want to know about.
There's lots of information, knowledge of languages, knowledge of cultures in the past, and man is just accumulating knowledge at a very rapid and maybe you might say dangerous rate. In Genesis 11:4-6, Yahweh set up a language barrier, and it was set up at Babel.
Genesis 11:4 - And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
Genesis 11:5 - And YAHWEH came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
Genesis 11:6 - And YAHWEH said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
As we all know, Yahweh went in and confused the languages so that men would be scattered abroad upon the face of the earth, as He originally commanded. Be fruitful, fill the earth, and multiply.
What we have basically today, brethren--the very thing which Yahweh did not want--is happening today. The very thing He was trying to avoid is happening today.
We know from scripture that the days are coming when there will be a one-world everything run by the beast, the enemy, and his cohorts. I would say it's probably something we need to be prepared for.
I don't know necessarily--physical preparation is wise, yes, but the main thing we've got to be focused on is our spiritual preparations. What do we need to do to prepare? Number one, Y2K was big in the news. Everybody was afraid, and so they went out and tried to hide out in the woods somewhere, and if nobody knew they existed, they'd be just happy with that.
They stored up their foods and tried to live a self-sufficient life. I do think it's good to be prepared to live without having to rely on grocery stores to supply our food, and that's wise, and I think we all need to learn how to live without relying on the world.
But the most important thing is that we are spiritually prepared for anything. There's an idea that's gone out today called the prosperity doctrine. The prosperity doctrine teaches that if you are living right, then you're going to be prosperous, and if you're giving to whatever denomination they're promoting at the time, then you're going to be prosperous.
Basically, you're going to be rich. All kinds of people have fallen for this thing. The idea of being associated with Yahushua is that a life in Yahushua is a comforting, very at ease kind of life, a real comfortable and wealthy kind of lifestyle.
But that flies in the face of what I see in the scriptures. For instance, if we were to turn to the book of 1 Peter, it says we are called to not live this life at ease but actually to suffer. This is our calling, to suffer.
1Peter 4:1 - Therefore, since the Messiah suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
That's part of our calling.
1Peter 2:21 - For to this you were called, because the Messiah also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
There is an idea that's gone out there today that Yahushua would never do anything to cause you to go through pain. He is just so, so loving, you will never go through any kind of pain. That's so, so unscriptural, because it associates this idea that if we have to suffer that we're not being loved.
The truth is Yahweh loved His Son Yahushua, and He went through a whole lot of pain. We need to escape from this mindset, because the times are coming when there may very well be a lot of suffering. Are we ready for that?
Have we fallen into this prosperity kind of spirit, this I'll never have to suffer because Yahweh loves me so much kind of spirit that's being taught today, this watered down Good News?
Yahushua said he who loves his life will lose it. He who loves his life will lose it. He who loses his life for my sake will find it.
Luke 9:24 - For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
Matthew 10:38 - And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
We need to arm ourselves with the mind of the Messiah. We also need to be aware of deception, because that's the other thing that's coming our direction, a lot of deception. These prosperity ideas are just a part of that, this life where you never have to ever suffer if you believe in the Messiah.
This whole doctrine of you're never going to have to suffer is another thing that is deception. We need to be aware and arm ourselves with the wisdom of Yahweh.
Today we have a lot of knowledge about how to do different things. This can be helpful, but there's one question that's very important to ask ourselves. Who will seek wisdom? I'm not talking about the wisdom of this world; I'm talking about the wisdom of Yahweh. Who will seek the wisdom of Yahweh?
Seeking His wisdom will give us far better information than any internet could, because Yahweh is the Elohim of knowledge.
1Samuel 2:2 - There is none holy as YAHWEH: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our Elohim.
1Samuel 2:3 - Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for YAHWEH is an El of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
We're going to look into the scriptures today and seek out the Elohim of knowledge. We're going to look in the scriptures today, and we're going to see more wisdom and knowledge than you will find on the information super highway.
There is no lack of knowledge in Yahweh. He lacks absolutely no knowledge whatsoever.
Job 36:4 - For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
Job 37:16 - Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
Psalms 147:5 - Great is our YAHWEH, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
Think about that for a moment. Yahweh's understanding is infinite.
Isaiah 40:28 - Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting Elohim, YAHWEH, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Romans 11:33 - O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of YAHWEH! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Psalms 139:1 - O YAHWEH, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Psalms 139:2 - Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Psalms 139:3 - Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
Psalms 139:4 - For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O YAHWEH, thou knowest it altogether.
Psalms 139:5 - Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Psalms 139:6 - Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
Yahweh's knowledge is unsearchable, infinite. There's no way any of us could possibly exhaust His understanding and wisdom and come even close to it.
If we're looking for information, if we're looking for wisdom, then the Elohim of knowledge, the One who is perfect in knowledge, the One who is infinite in knowledge is the One to look to for knowledge, and not just knowledge, but knowledge that leads to everlasting life.
If we want to receive that wisdom, if we want to receive that knowledge, Yahweh is willing to reveal things to us.
Daniel 2:20 - Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of Elohim for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
Daniel 2:21 - And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
Daniel 2:22 - He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
Yahweh reveals the deep and secret things. How about us? Do we seek His wisdom? We do have to seek it diligently.
Proverbs 3:13 - Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
Proverbs 3:14 - For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
Proverbs 3:15 - She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
Proverbs 3:16 - Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
Proverbs 3:17 - Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
Proverbs 3:18 - She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
Proverbs 4:5 - Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
Proverbs 4:6 - Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
Proverbs 4:7 - Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
If we really consider that our days here on earth are numbered and that we all have an appointment with death, it might compel us to seek wisdom.
Psalms 90:12 - So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
There are many people today who are living as if life is going to go on forever. But if we really number our days and realize our time here is short, then we would apply our hearts to wisdom and seek it out, that we might understand how frail we are, and that we might turn to Yahweh and fear Him and let Him be our guide all the way into eternity.
If we do not seek wisdom, we just go on about and don't seek the wisdom of Yahweh, then we will walk on dangerous ground.
Proverbs 1:20 - Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
Proverbs 1:21 - She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
Proverbs 1:22 - How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Proverbs 1:23 - Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
Proverbs 1:24 - Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
Proverbs 1:25 - But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
Proverbs 1:26 - I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
Proverbs 1:27 - When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
Proverbs 1:28 - Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
Proverbs 1:29 - For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of YAHWEH:
Sometimes, brethren, the window of opportunity to seek wisdom and to seek the fear of Yahweh is limited. If we have the opportunity today, brethren, let's walk it out. Let's seek it out.
Some people wondered where did the Messiah get all His wisdom?
Matthew 13:54 - And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
The people also wondered about the apostles.
Acts 4:13 - Now when they saw the boldness of Kepha and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Yahushua.
Brethren, we don't need seminaries to teach us the wisdom of Yahweh. Seminaries are often nothing more than cemeteries. We only need to ask Yahweh for wisdom, and He will give it.
James 1:5 - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of YAHWEH, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
James 1:6 - But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
We can ask Yahweh for wisdom, and He will give it, as long as we ask without doubting.
Proverbs 2:6 - For YAHWEH giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
1John 2:27 - But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
Yahushua said:
Luke 21:15 - For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
That's exactly what happened:
Acts 6:9 - Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.
Acts 6:10 - And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
Yahweh can put a wisdom in us in such a way that no man will be able to resist. The only thing they can do--and they'll try this--is to bear false witness. That's probably their strongest weapon.
Acts 6:11 - Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against Elohim.
Acts 6:12 - And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,
Acts 6:13 - And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
Acts 6:14 - For we have heard him say, that this Yahushua of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.
Brethren, if there was no change in the Torah of Yahweh, then these false witnesses would have been speaking the truth. If there was a change in the Torah of Yahweh, then these wouldn't be false witnesses. But because they were false witnesses, Yahweh did not change His law.
Yahushua is the Living Word that dwells in us, the living wisdom that dwells in us.
Colossians 2:3 - In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Ecclesiastes 12:11 - The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
Wisdom is the principal thing. Get wisdom and get understanding. How do we feebleminded men begin to gain wisdom? We see that Yahweh is the source of wisdom. Where do we begin?
We must fear Yahweh. Fearing Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.
Psalms 111:10 - The fear of YAHWEH is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
It's one thing to read His commandments, and to repeat His commandments, and to speak His commandments, but when we do His commandments, that's when we really gain understanding. All they that do.
Proverbs 1:7 - The fear of YAHWEH is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 9:10 - The fear of YAHWEH is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Job 28:28 - And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of YAHWEH, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
There it is again. We fear Yahweh, and we depart from evil, and we keep His commandments, and then we will be given--that will be understanding. That will be wisdom.
We apply our hearts to wisdom through fearing Yahweh and departing from evil. We can ask Yahweh for wisdom. But if we ask Yahweh for wisdom, and we really don't believe He's going to give it to us...
James 1:7 - For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from YAHWEH;
If we are willing to ask without doubting, it will be given to him, so it says. It may or may not happen immediately, but it will be given. We have to understand sometimes we will ask for wisdom, and we might think we've received it, but we haven't, because we're impatient.
We might think we have gained wisdom and Yahweh has given us the answer, but He's only taught us part of the answer, or maybe the enemy is trying to feed us with his wisdom, his knowledge. We can believe, brethren, that if we ask, we will receive it.
Psalms 119:169 - Let my cry come near before thee, O YAHWEH: give me understanding according to thy word.
If we ask for wisdom, and we have the fear of Yahweh, and we turn to the keeping of His commandments, that's going to be the best environment for us to receive the wisdom we need. Wisdom cries out to us in Proverbs 8.
Proverbs 8:1 - Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
Proverbs 8:2 - She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
Proverbs 8:3 - She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
Proverbs 8:4 - Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
Proverbs 8:5 - O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
Proverbs 8:6 - Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
Proverbs 8:7 - For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Proverbs 8:8 - All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
Wisdom cries out, but we must also cry out.
Proverbs 2:3 - Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
Proverbs 2:4 - If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
Proverbs 2:5 - Then shalt thou understand the fear of YAHWEH, and find the knowledge of Elohim.
Proverbs 2:6 - For YAHWEH giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 2:7 - He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
Proverbs 2:8 - He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
Proverbs 2:9 - Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
Proverbs 2:10 - When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
Proverbs 2:11 - Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
Proverbs 2:12 - To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
Proverbs 2:13 - Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
Proverbs 2:14 - Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
Brethren, perverse men are common today, but Yahweh's wisdom can deliver us if we cry out and lift up our voice for the wisdom of Yahweh.
But suppose that Yahweh looked upon us, brethren, with favor and imparted some kind of wisdom to us. What should be our attitude? Some assume that once they have received some wisdom, they have done the necessary thing. Placing confidence in their newfound wisdom, they set up their denominations, crying out to the world, "We've found it! Come to us!"
In such a state, they assume they found all that was needed. For this wisdom, they set up their bishops and deacons and hierarchies and denominations to keep things the way they are.
We are warned in 1 Corinthians 8:2-3...
1Corinthians 8:2 - And if any man think that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
1Corinthians 8:3 - But if any man love YAHWEH, the same is known of him.
It is written...
Proverbs 3:7 - Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear YAHWEH, and depart from evil.
It is written...
Isaiah 5:21 - Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
It is written...
Who are the ones who are wise in their own conceits? The ones who think they know anything, they know nothing yet as they ought to know. Are we among those who are wise in our own conceits?
Proverbs 26:12 - Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
Romans 11:13 - For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
Romans 11:14 - If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
Romans 11:15 - For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
The casting away of physical Israel resulted in the reconciliation of the world to Yahweh, because it was their rejection of the Messiah that became the salvation of every man. A day will come--it's happening today, brethren--that they're going to look upon Him whom they've pierced, and they're going to receive Him. It's happening today.
Romans 11:16 - For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
Romans 11:17 - And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
Romans 11:18 - Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
This boasting against the branches has resulted in a rejection of Yahweh's wisdom, His Torah. Do we understand this? It's this boasting against the branches that caused people to delve into anti-Semitism and have a superiority complex against the Jews to the extent that they rejected Torah. Anything that appeared Jewish was rejected.
Romans 11:19 - Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
Romans 11:20 - Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
Romans 11:21 - For if YAHWEH spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Romans 11:22 - Behold therefore the goodness and severity of YAHWEH: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
Brethren, we have to continue in His goodness, His righteousness, which is the Torah. That's what made Yahushua righteous, His keeping of the Torah. We must continue in His goodness and be not highminded or conceited.
Romans 11:23 - And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for YAHWEH is able to graff them in again.
Romans 11:24 - For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
Romans 11:25 - For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Lest you should be wise in your own conceits. That's exactly what happened. The Gentiles boasted against the branches and became wise in their own conceits.
Proverbs 26:12 - Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
When I went to Israel this spring, and they saw that, number one, I didn't come to them with a bunch of arrogance, but I came to them in peace and as one who wants to keep Torah, and they saw the tzit-tzit hanging from my garment, they realized that I also believed in keeping Torah and that Yahushua taught from the Torah, and He was not against the Torah, it caused them to consider, "Could Yahushua be the Messiah?"
They knew if He did not keep the Torah and He did not teach the Torah, He couldn't be the Messiah. To the law and the testimony, if they speak not according to this Word, there is no light in them.
Brethren, for 2,000 years, the Jewish people have been presented with a messiah who was a rebellious son. They've been presented with a messiah who disobeyed the Torah and taught his followers to delve into paganism.
Born on December 25th, the birthday of every sun deity in Roman history, died and raised on Easter Sunday, wears a toga and had a sun disk behind him to associate him with idolatry, also known as a halo. The fact that He has been presented in this way, is it any wonder that they have a hard time accepting this?
But when He's presented as He actually was, not this comely-looking, longhaired, Greek-like solar god, but as the Anointed of Yahweh who had no beauty that we should desire Him, who upheld the Torah and the original intent of the Torah, wearing the tzit-tzit as commanded by Yahweh in Numbers 15:38 and Deuteronomy 22:12, not trying to create a new religion or change the Sabbath day,
coming as a judge and a ruler, not claiming to be equal to or greater than Yahweh, being Yahweh's servant Himself, not Yahweh's replacement, with Yahweh being His Elohim, according to Revelation 3:12.
When He's presented according to the way He really truly was, all of a sudden they begin to give Him a second look. The truth be told, brethren, both Christianity and Judaism need to find a Torah-keeping Messiah. They both need the true Torah-keeping, Torah-upholding Messiah--both of them.
Guess what? We who understand that the Messiah did uphold the Torah, we are the bearers of that message. We are the lone bearers of that message. That's a responsibility on our part--not to become wise in our own conceit, not to boast against the branches, as the Gentile church has done, not to become conceited, but to simply proclaim an eternal truth. Yahweh's Torah is our wisdom.
2Timothy 3:15 - And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Yahushua ha Mashiach.
2Timothy 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of YAHWEH, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Timothy 3:17 - That the man of YAHWEH may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
That's what we need to do. We need to furnish ourselves with the wisdom of Yahweh from the scriptures. The holy scriptures Timothy was raised on was not the New Testament, although it does equally contain wisdom.
The holy scriptures that Timothy was raised on was the Torah, and the prophets, and the writings, what they call the Old Testament, which thoroughly furnished him, and taught him to make him wise unto salvation through Yahushua HaMashiach. Is the Torah your wisdom?
Deuteronomy 4:5 - Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as YAHWEH my Elohim commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
Deuteronomy 4:6 - Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
Brethren, this is your wisdom. This is your understanding to keep therefore and to do them, the statutes and judgments which Yahweh commanded Moshe. This is your wisdom and your understanding.
Today I ask all of you, is the Torah your wisdom? Is the Torah your wisdom? Yahweh says it's supposed to be. It's supposed to be your wisdom. It's supposed to be your understanding. Is it?
Some of those who are wise in their own conceit think that the wisdom of Yahweh has been abolished. Imagine such a thing. Yahweh's wisdom, which He's given to us, being abolished? That cannot be. For those who do not know, the word translated "law" in the Hebrew tongue is Torah, and Torah means instruction, teaching.
Surely we would never want to say that Yahweh's instruction, Yahweh's teaching and Yahweh's wisdom have been done away with. Rather, we should say that Yahweh's instruction, His teaching, His wisdom are sweet unto the taste and more to be desired than gold.
Psalms 119:103 - How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psalms 119:104 - Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
I know that some do not realize these things. May Yahweh have mercy on all of us. I know that we all lack wisdom in some areas, because Yahweh's ways are unsearchable. His knowledge is infinite. But we are told today that only part of Yahweh's words are wisdom, and we are told to avoid reading too much of that Old Testament and focus on their twisting of Paul instead.
The truth is, brethren, if we do not become learned in the rest of Yahweh's Word, we will find ourselves twisting Paul's words to our own destruction.
2Peter 3:16 - as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
We, like Timothy, must be taught in the rest of Yahweh's Word, rather than being untaught, as it says here, and therefore unstable. The truth be told, if people today were encouraged to let the Torah be their wisdom, as Yahweh says, it would expose the lie that Paul teaches against the Torah and wisdom of Yahweh and that he teaches the law has been abolished in some way.
He never taught such a thing. The untaught people believe that. Some say, "You're the one twisting Paul." Some say we're the ones twisting Paul to our own destruction.
Let me ask a question. Where in scripture does it say, "Depart from me, you commandment keepers, you who want to do my commandments. Into the lake of fire you go."
We're not twisting His writings to our own destruction. It's the commandment breakers who twist things to their own destruction. Some suggest that the law of Yahweh was written in such a way that Yahweh had to come along and fix it later, as if He made some kind of a mistake.
Psalms 19:7 - The law of YAHWEH is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of YAHWEH is sure, making wise the simple.
Some cannot fathom how the law of Yahweh could convert the soul, because they think, "Well, the law doesn't make anybody perfect. The law doesn't convert the soul."
Let me say to you brethren that unless you have heard the Torah, unless you have read, and understood, and saw the need for the law of Yahweh to be applicable in your life, you see no need for Yahushua.
The law of Yahweh has a role in our conversion, and that is to convict all men under sin. But if the law is done away with, there's nothing to convict. There's no reason to be convicted. So the law of Yahweh, in its perfection, is illustrating a perfect man, and that perfect man is Yahushua. The law of Yahweh is perfect converting the soul.
We have been imperfect. That's why our soul needs to be converted. Yes, Yahushua the Messiah brings us the perfection we need. The law of Yahweh has a role, and we need to let that role be used as it's intended to be.
Some say, "Yahweh's law wasn't so perfect. He had to come along and fix it with the New Testament." These are not words of wisdom, brethren. Yahweh did not make a mistake. He didn't need a 2.0.
Yahushua came along, and the things that He taught illustrated Yahweh's intent from the very beginning.
Psalms 19:8 - The statutes of YAHWEH are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of YAHWEH is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Psalms 19:9 - The fear of YAHWEH is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of YAHWEH are true and righteous altogether.
If the Torah is something that rejoices the heart, rather than something we view as bringing us into bondage, then we will gain the wisdom it boldly proclaims.
Psalms 19:10 - More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psalms 19:11 - Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Don't let anybody lie to you. There is great reward awaiting those who keep them.
Psalms 119:98 - Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.
Psalms 119:99 - I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
Psalms 119:100 - I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
The psalmist understood more, because he kept the precepts of Yahweh. The full wisdom of Yahweh can only be gained when we put His wisdom into practice. Knowledge on paper cannot be compared to knowledge coming from experience.
Many times, it's not until you practice His commandments that you really, truly learn and understand the full wisdom behind them. And so who will heed the wisdom? Who will seek to understand the understanding given? Who will let the Torah be their wisdom?
I want to say that the Torah doesn't necessarily have to be limited to the first five books of Moshe. The entirety of Yahweh's Word is our Torah, not just New Testament, not just Old Testament. The entirety, the full counsel of Yahweh is our Torah, is our teaching, is our instruction, is our wisdom.
Matthew 13:52 - Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
Scribes are teachers of the law, and so let's bring forth things old and new. Whether old or new, all of Yahweh's Word is true, and all of Yahweh's Word is wisdom forever and ever. The problem is too many have forgotten the ancient paths.
Jeremiah 6:16 - Thus saith YAHWEH, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Jeremiah 6:17 - Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
Jeremiah 6:18 - Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
Jeremiah 6:19 - Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
Men and women around the world, we need to listen to the sound of the trumpet. Many seek knowledge in many things, but fail to seek wisdom. Yahweh knows that most of you will not walk therein. Most of you who are in the world, you will reject His law.
Brethren, we don't have to be that way. We can seek after, and hunger after, and thirst after the wisdom that leads to eternal life, the wisdom of Yahweh. We need to be aware of any professed wisdom, but reject the Torah, which is our wisdom, because in doing so they mold Yahweh into an image they desire.
If we were raised in mainstream churches, all kinds of false images may have been planted in our minds. We need to ask Yahweh to cleanse us and to renew our minds in such a way that we begin to receive everything that Yahweh says, not just the last one-third of the Bible, but the whole, entire Word.
Cast away these false images, and let Yahweh teach us the truth about Himself. He knows better than any man.
Isaiah 8:20 - To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
A truly wise man, Solomon, once wrote:
Ecclesiastes 3:14 - I know that, whatsoever Elohim doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and Elohim doeth it, that men should fear before him.
His law was given so that we would fear Him. The kings of Israel were commanded to write a copy of the Torah to keep with them.
Deuteronomy 17:18 - And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
Deuteronomy 17:19 - And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear YAHWEH his Elohim, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
But as we see in Solomon's own example, there is more needed than just having wisdom. Once we find wisdom, we need to walk it out.
James 1:22 - But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
James 1:23 - For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
James 1:24 - for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
James 1:25 - But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
Yahushua said to those Jews who believed on Him...
John 8:31 - Then said Yahushua to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Verse 32 is often quoted about the truth making us freedom, but the freedom mentioned in verse 32 will be hard to come by unless we heed the principles in verse 31, and that is to continue in His Word.
Brethren, we have to continue in His Word so that we will know the truth and grow in wisdom. None of us have gained all the wisdom we need. All of us lack wisdom in some areas. All of us have more light to be revealed to us, not just light about the right way to walk, but light about the way we're not walking it, the areas we're failing, the things in our heart that need to be cleansed.
Every single one of us have more light that we need to receive and more wisdom that we need to receive. We all need to be on a path of seeking more wisdom.
Proverbs 4:18 - But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
That's what our path is supposed to be like. If we do not obey the wisdom and truth given to us, of what use is more wisdom to us? It would only burden us greater, and many are weighted down for this reason.
Psalms 50:16 - But unto the wicked Elohim saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
Psalms 50:17 - Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.
Let's be the wise man. Who wants to be the wise man?
Matthew 7:24 - Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Matthew 7:25 - And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Matthew 7:26 - And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Matthew 7:27 - And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
The rain is coming soon, brethren. It's coming soon, and it may be the same rain that washes away the house of fools will fill the disciples with His Spirit. May Yahweh help us be wise men that built our houses upon the Rock.
A war is on the horizon, and we need to prepare for the days ahead, filling our minds with the wisdom of Yahweh, so that we might have His Word in our hearts, even as they seek to take it from our hands.
They may take it from our hands in the years of drought, but they cannot take away what was stored in our hearts in the years of plenty. Brethren, we are in a time of plenty. Let's seek the wisdom of Yahweh, store it up in our hearts, as wise Joseph was storing up the grain for the drought ahead.
Amos 8:11 - Behold, the days come, saith the Sovereign YAHWEH, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of YAHWEH:
The spiritual preparation is what we need to focus on the most. As we gain wisdom, we will know how to wage a spiritual war. Let's take counsel together in His Word. Let's reject the influences of this age and not desire anything that's not of him.
Proverbs 24:1 - Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
Don't even desire to be with them.
Proverbs 24:2 - For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
Proverbs 24:3 - Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
Proverbs 24:4 - And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
Proverbs 24:5 - A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
Proverbs 24:6 - For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellers there is safety.
Let's fill our minds with the wisdom of Yahweh, so that we will be strong and increase in strength. Let's wage the war and overcome and not let the ways of this world seduce us, nor let us envy the wicked.
Let's walk in the wisdom of Yahweh and seek the things which are eternal, because only the things that are eternal will remain. If we have sought the eternal things, we will remain.
Wisdom is not the end-all, brethren.
Ecclesiastes 12:12 - And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohim, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 - For Elohim shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. .
May Yahweh fill us with the wisdom to know His will, with the humility to know our limitations, and the strength to walk out the wisdom He gives.
Colossians 3:16 - Let the word of the Messiah dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with favor in your hearts to the Master.
Colossians 3:17 - And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Master Yahushua, giving thanks to YAHWEH the Father by him.
The riches of Yahweh await us, brethren. Let's seek to be filled. May Yahweh bless you, and may He have mercy on us all.
