EliYah's message:

What we find in the Torah is what Yahweh really requires of us.

Deuteronomy 10:12 - And now, Israel, what doth YAHWEH thy Elohim require of thee, but to fear YAHWEH thy Elohim, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve YAHWEH thy Elohim with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Deuteronomy 10:13 - To keep the commandments of YAHWEH, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

I want us to notice there are certain things Yahweh requires of us. The first thing He lists is that we fear Him. Today somebody might say we don't need to fear Yahweh. He's love. He is a loving Elohim. He would never want to harm us or judge us.

If you start to talk about the need to fear Yahweh, some people might even get offended and start casting your name as evil because you portray Yahweh as someone to be feared. What's more popular today is this belief that Yahweh always loves; therefore, we don't have to fear. He's not really going to condemn the sinners.

The danger is that even though we don't really believe that, we find ourselves acting like we do. I'm going to go into that very question, the importance of fearing Yahweh, and the danger of fearing man.

Sometimes we find ourselves fearing man more than Yahweh. It's foundational. We see the first thing listed there is that we fear Yahweh.

Proverbs 1:7 - The fear of YAHWEH is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 9:10 - The fear of YAHWEH is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

In order for us to really receive wisdom and knowledge, we must first fear Yahweh. That's where it all starts. Fearing Yahweh also means not fearing man. Going back to the Torah again, it says:

Deuteronomy 13:1 - If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,

Deuteronomy 13:2 - And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other elohim, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;

Deuteronomy 13:3 - Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for YAHWEH your Elohim proveth you, to know whether ye love YAHWEH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul.

Deuteronomy 13:4 - Ye shall walk after YAHWEH your Elohim, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

The fear of man is very rampant today. It's probably the number one reason why people are not willing to receive the truth, if you really get down to the heart of the matter. For instance, if everyone in the entire world referred to our heavenly Father by His name, Yahweh, who would still insist on calling him the Lord instead?

If everybody kept Passover, for instance, the feast days of Yahweh, how many people would insist on rejecting those feast days and keeping Christmas and Easter instead? If everybody kept the Sabbath on the seventh day of the week, how many people would insist on observing Sunday?

Those are some probing questions to consider. Our answers to those questions will kind of reveal some things in our hearts about who we're really serving. If we fear man, we're going to fear what they say about us. If we fear man, we're going to fear what they say about us more than what Yahweh says about us.

If we're afraid of what others will say about us, it's a very dangerous thing when it comes to seeking the truth and walking therein. When it comes to our decision, we read something in the scriptures and we're making a decision about whether we're going to walk this out, the concern about what others may say, which is often rooted in pride and a fear of man, can be a very dangerous thing.

When it comes down to whether or not we are really truly serving Yahweh, that's revealed when we encounter situations like Yahushua encountered. He could have chosen the fear of man, but He chose the fear of Yahweh. His disciples, particularly Kepha, Peter, did choose the fear of man at that time, but then later he chose the fear of Yahweh.

These verses in Deuteronomy 13 tell us that we need to fear Yahweh, rather than man, when it comes to someone telling us to turn away from following Yahweh's Word. Yahweh may even send people and allow us to be tested and proved as to whether we will fear Him and keep His commandments or not. That's something we read about in Deuteronomy 13.

Yahweh wants to know if we love Him with all of our heart, soul and strength. No matter what sign or wonder someone gives, no matter how many miracles they have to prove that they're coming from Yahweh, if they tell us to turn aside from His commandments, we're not to listen to their voice.

2Thessalonians 2:10 - And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2Thessalonians 2:11 - And for this cause YAHWEH shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

2Thessalonians 2:12 - That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

If somebody comes along with signs and lying wonders, you can't believe it if they're trying to tell us to turn away from the commandments. The sign or the wonder might be from Yahweh, but it's a strong delusion from Yahweh to see if we're going to love Him with all of our heart.

Looking here at 2 Thessalonians, Yahweh sends a strong delusion so that someone would believe a lie rather than the truth. Why? Because they did not have a love for the truth, and so He gives them a delusion, that they might not be saved. Why? Because they had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The heart of the matter is obedience. It's sort of the same thing in 2 Thessalonians that we read in Deuteronomy 13. Yahweh said you shall not hearken to the words of that prophet or dreamer of dreams. Yahweh your Elohim proves you or tests you to know whether you love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul.

No matter what a prophet does, if he tries to turn us away from the commands of Yahweh, we don't listen to him. We fear Yahweh and obey Him instead. When we fear Yahweh, we regard His words as being more important than the words of men.

When there is a conflict, we will go with what Yahweh says, not with what man says. If we fear Yahweh, we will want to love Him, and we will want to depart from pride and evil.

Proverbs 3:7 - Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear YAHWEH, and depart from evil.

It's when a man gets wise in his own eyes that he strays from the will of Yahweh. He begins to rely on his own wisdom. We need to seek Yahweh's wisdom. That's the danger of theological seminaries, and doctorates, and accolades of men. By the time someone graduates, they are told they have learned all there is to learn about Yahweh, and now they have the answers.

We are not to be wise in our own eyes. It seems to me that man outsmarts himself into a lack of fearing Yahweh. No matter what school or class you take, no matter what sermon you hear, what doctrine you learn about, the bottom line is this:

Ecclesiastes 12:13 - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohim, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

No matter what sermon we hear, don't think because you looked in the mirror, that's all you have to do and then forget what manner of man that you were. We have to be doers of the Word and not hearers only.

The keeping of Yahweh's commandments is the duty of man. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Those who say otherwise are drawing their own conclusions. Some say we only have to have faith and that's all.

Just believe, they say. But if we will believe, we will have a fear of Yahweh. In fact, fearing Yahweh is a key part of the good news that's supposed to be preached unto all nations.

Revelation 14:6 - Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting evangel to preach to those who dwell on the earth--to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people--

What is that everlasting evangel? What are the things that are being taught?

Revelation 14:7 - saying with a loud voice, "Fear YAHWEH and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water."

That's something we need to keep in mind. The true evangel, the true good news calls upon men to fear Elohim. That's a worthy message for this age. For some reason, people do not see Him as one to be feared. If we fear Yahweh, we are taught His ways, because we are brought to repentance, and we are taught to walk in the truth.

Psalms 25:12 - What man is he that feareth YAHWEH? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

When we do fear Yahweh, we are pitied as a Father pities his children.

Psalms 103:13 - Like as a father pitieth his children, so YAHWEH pitieth them that fear him.

Psalms 103:14 - For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

Psalms 103:15 - As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

Psalms 103:16 - For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

Psalms 103:17 - But the mercy of YAHWEH is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

Psalms 103:18 - To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

There are wonderful, awesome promises given and granted to those who will fear Him. They will receive mercy. They will be taught truth.

Psalms 147:11 - YAHWEH taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

I believe that scripture is a key scripture to understanding, because it's those who fear Yahweh that will give thought to hoping in His mercy. Unless you really do fear Yahweh, why would you see the need for His mercy to begin with? Nothing to be afraid of, nothing to be concerned about, so why do you need the mercy of Yahweh?

Unless there is a fear, we'll go on believing our sin will go unpunished. Hath Elohim said? You shall not surely die. That's the danger. That's the trouble today.

Men are taught they don't have to fear Yahweh because He just accepts them no matter what. Men are taught that Yahweh will have mercy upon those who do not fear Him. The truth is that Yahweh's mercy is upon them that fear Him.

Luke 1:49 - For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

Luke 1:50 - And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

In fact, there will be a book of remembrance written.

Malachi 3:16 - Then they that feared YAHWEH spake often one to another: and YAHWEH hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared YAHWEH, and that thought upon his name.

Malachi 3:17 - And they shall be mine, saith YAHWEH of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Malachi 3:18 - Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth Elohim and him that serveth him not.

One day it's going to be discerned that the ones who truly do serve Yahweh are the ones that fear Him. Continuing in the next chapter, chapter 4 of Malachi:

Malachi 4:1 - For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith YAHWEH of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Malachi 4:2 - But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

Malachi 4:3 - And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith YAHWEH of hosts.

Malachi 4:4 - Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

Very few people know Yahweh's name, let alone fear His name. In that day, it shall be known who fears Yahweh, who keeps His commandments. In that day, it shall be known who has remembered the law of Mosheh, the servant of Yahweh. In that day, it shall be known who Yahweh's servants truly are.

In this day and age, Satan has muddied the waters, confused right and wrong, deceived millions into thinking that Yahweh loves; therefore, He won't really judge. This is quite simply the lie that originated in the Garden of Eden.

Genesis 3:4 - And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

People believe it because they desire to sin as much as they think they can get away with. The same Elohim who loves all mankind enough to send His Son to die for our sakes is also coming back to judge those who do not fear Him and are not willing to keep His commandments.

For awhile, they will exalt this need to love, but in the end they'll find that a failure to keep His commandments is a failure to love. Yahushua said:

John 14:15 - If ye love me, keep my commandments.

In Psalm 110, we're going to find an accurate portrayal of Yahushua the Messiah. A lot of people like to portray Him as this weak babe in a manger. They want to exalt that a lot, but we know that He's going to return as a lion, as a judge.

Psalms 110:1 - YAHWEH said unto my Master, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Psalms 110:2 - YAHWEH shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

Psalms 110:3 - Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

In the first century, they weren't willing, but in a future time they will be.

Psalms 110:4 - YAHWEH hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

Psalms 110:5 - YAHWEH at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

Psalms 110:6 - He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.

Psalms 110:7 - He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

What a shock that's going to be to many, because Yahushua is going to be this conquering warrior, and His people will be His army which will prevail. Let's remember the fullness of the Messiah. He's not just this kind of passive person when it comes to sin. He's very serious about sin. He's going to judge among the nations and judge those who have not repented.

There are some scriptures which may appear on the surface to say we don't have to fear Yahweh. Let's look at those.

2Timothy 1:3 - I thank YAHWEH, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

This is Paul writing to Timothy.

2Timothy 1:4 - Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

2Timothy 1:5 - When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

2Timothy 1:6 - Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of YAHWEH, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

2Timothy 1:7 - For YAHWEH hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

That's a very commonly quoted scripture. Do we not need to fear Yahweh if He has not given us the spirit of fear? The next verse makes it very clear that what's at issue here is not the fear of Yahweh, but the fear of man.

2Timothy 1:8 - Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Master, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the evangel according to the power of YAHWEH;

We're not giving a spirit of fear unto men to where we'd be ashamed of the testimony of Yahushua. We have no reason to be ashamed. Instead, we are given a spirit that says I don't want to fear man; I want to fear Yahweh.

The important thing in the end is not our fear of men; it's the fear of Yahweh. The important thing in the end is not what man says about us; it's what Yahweh says about us.

Man's opinion is not going to count in the end. He's not going to be standing there. Yahweh is not going to be consulting man on the day of judgment. In this age, people don't want to keep certain commandments that we bring to their attention, because they fear what their friends at work or church might say or often what their family might say.

The important thing is not what others say; the important thing is what Yahweh says. What men will say about us is not going to matter one bit. Yahweh's opinion is what counts, because it's always right 100% of the time.

Brethren, I say to you do not fear being labeled an outcast. Don't fear others and what they're going to do to you, or say to you, or the negative consequences of this world that you may encounter as a result of obedience.

Do not fear what may happen to you if you keep the Sabbath day or other commandments, because it's better to lose your job than it is to lose your soul. It's better to lose the respect of men than to lose the respect of Yahweh.

Mark 8:35 - For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

Mark 8:36 - For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

If you're focused on self preservation, and you gain the whole world trying to save yourself, you lose your soul in the end. Selfishness is at the heart of most sin. It's a fleshly carnal thing. It's not of the Spirit. We need to keep our minds on the things which are above. I know it's hard. It's very difficult to be different.

It's very difficult to be unusual and for others around you to look at you negatively and maybe even lose the fellowship of your father, or your mother, or your brother, or your cousin, or your friend because they don't want to be associated with you, or they reject you in some way.

This is the thing right here, the thing most people are challenged with when they come to the understanding of these things that we've learned about Yahweh's commandments. This is a very tough issue, but this is the very issue that keeps a lot of the people that persecute you from accepting these things. Let's set our affection on things above.

Colossians 3:2 - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Colossians 3:3 - For ye are dead, and your life is hid with the Messiah in YAHWEH.

If we regard ourselves as dead, we won't focus on self. When we see His Word telling us to do something, we read it, see it's clear. Yahweh said to do it. Do our thoughts ever roam toward fearing what others will do or say? These kinds of thoughts can lead us to disobedience and to finding some scripture somewhere to excuse away what Yahweh has clearly said.

By so doing, we set up man as our Elohim, rather than Yahweh. Who we follow really determines who our Elohim is. Are we focused in walking in the image of Elohim, or are we focused on walking in the image of man, who is not following Elohim down, down deep?

That's a question, really, most of the time, only we can answer in our hearts. We need to ask Yahweh to show us our own hearts. There's subtle motivations people have for doing the things they do.

You might be talking to somebody about anything regarding obedience to Yahweh that you've learned that maybe they're not doing. Down, down deep, there may be a fear of man present. You can talk to them all day long, and it doesn't make any difference. They're not going to receive it, because they're too afraid of facing the opposition.

Those little heart issues down, down deep has a lot to do with whether or not we're saved. Who we follow determines who our Elohim truly is. Are we focused on walking in the image of Elohim? If we walk in the image of men who are not following Elohim, then we are like them, choosing to follow the Elohim of this world, the same one Eve followed in the Garden of Eden.

Do we ever hear thoughts within our hearts which basically in essence say you will not surely die if you do this particular thing that's not right? Maybe it's couched in different language. Maybe it's something like, oh, well, we're saved by grace. Hallelujah for grace. That's what grace is for. While you willfully commit something wrong.

Do we ever say in our hearts, well, He'll forgive me if I do... Fill in the blank. I shouldn't do this, but I know my Father is merciful. He'll forgive me. What we do in those kinds of moments is so important.

Our hearts are being tested. Do we walk in the flesh, or do we walk in the Spirit? Do we have a heart of repentance or a heart of insulting the spirit of grace? Do we walk in the image of Elohim or in the image of His enemy, Satan? Is Yahweh our Elohim, or are we following the elohim of this world?

These are issues that Yahweh sees, these little depths of the heart, the little intent of our thoughts that are going to weigh very heavily on the day of judgment. Who are we really serving? Yahweh? Or are we serving man?

Jeremiah 17:5 - Thus saith YAHWEH; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from YAHWEH.

Jeremiah 17:6 - For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

Let's not put a curse on ourselves. Let's put all of our hope, all of our trust, all of our expectation and desires toward the righteous one who is truly worthy of them. Man is not worthy. Religion after religion is built upon the principle of following man's ideas.

I was in the land of Israel a month ago, and I was struck with how similar Judaism is amazingly to Catholicism. Catholicism is based on this belief that they are the succession, apostolic succession of Peter, being their first pope. Whatever Peter binds in heaven and looses in heaven can be--I'm sorry. Whatever Peter binds on earth and looses on earth is loosed and bound in heaven.

Their belief is they can change the Sabbath day and it's changed in heaven. Basically, they believe they can boss Yahweh around, and Yahweh accepts that. What a twist of scripture.

A lot of the mainstream Judaism also has sort of the same mindset that they have what they call the oral Torah. No one can really prove that the oral Torah has any real thing handed down from Mosheh. A lot of it contradicts the written Torah.

They'll say if the oral Torah says one thing and the written Torah says another, we do the written Torah. But in real practice, the oral Torah always wins. The Talmud always wins.

They believe that because they are the judges of the land, they have the authority, and everyone has to listen and do what they say. That's the very thing that Yahushua spoke against. He said full well you reject the commandment of Yahweh and keep your traditions, and in vain you worship me because of that.

They're both doing the same thing. They're following man rather than following Yahweh. The school children over there--I went into the school, and they know the Torah. They say it, but they don't learn what it means. They rely totally on the Yeshivas and the Talmud to tell them what the Torah means.

The focus is not on Torah; it's on what the Talmud says. I walked into the factory where they made the tekhelet, the blue dye for the tzit-tzit, and I confronted him with the use of snails, about touching the carcasses and so on. The first thing he grabbed was the commentary and read the commentary.

There is a tendency to think that we are not able to read the scriptures. We're not able to read the scriptures and learn what they say on our own. We have to rely on certain men to tell us what it means. That's not true.

There is a foundation here being built upon man and the fear of man and the following of man, as opposed to the following of Yahweh. There are the Protestant daughters of Catholicism who have the same tendencies. What we really need to do is act as though we really believe that when we come to Yahweh on judgment day, it's going to be us and Him.

What matters is what He says. We begin to read the scriptures and look at this personally and say, "What is this saying to me?" Seek the truth from that.

Even if every man in the entire world disobeys this particular scripture, we're going to follow Yahweh. We're going to fear Him and do what He says, not what man says.

This point right here that I'm making to you is the thing that brought me personally to the truths I've come to understand today with the keeping of Yahweh's Torah. The rejection of the holidays of man and these other things.

I'm sure there's lots more truth I have to learn, a lot more things I'm failing in. Yahweh wants to show me. The main thing is that we are willing to fear Elohim and walk in His ways and do the things He tells us to do.

There is a curse that comes with putting our trust and fear in man. There is a blessing, a promise that comes when we choose to put our trust and hope in Yahweh.

Jeremiah 17:7 - Blessed is the man that trusteth in YAHWEH, and whose hope YAHWEH is.

Jeremiah 17:8 - For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

What's going on in the hearts?

Jeremiah 17:9 - The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Don't even trust your own heart on this, who you're trusting, who you're fearing, who you're following. Don't even trust your own heart on this.

Proverbs 28:26 - He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

Those who trust in man are cursed. Those who trust in their heart are called fools. What do we do? Those who trust in Yahweh are called blessed. In the deepest depth of our heart, whom do we fear? Where are we placing our trust and hope?

Jeremiah 17:10 - I YAHWEH search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Don't be among those who say, "I'll just follow my heart." Fear Yahweh and walk wisely instead. That's the beginning of wisdom.

Ask Yahweh to show you the condition of your own heart and ask Him to give you a clean heart and a right spirit, a new heart.

Let's examine another scripture many people would use to say we don't have to fear Yahweh.

Hebrews 2:11 - For both He who sets apart and those who are being set apart are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Hebrews 2:12 - saying: "I will declare Your name to My brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You."

Hebrews 2:13 - And again: "I will put My trust in Him." And again: "Here am I and the children whom YAHWEH has given Me."

Hebrews 2:14 - Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Hebrews 2:15 - and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Here is fear again. We're talking about fear of death. We don't have to fear death. If we fear Yahweh, we're going to receive the mercy He promises to those who fear Him, and we will be given eternal life.

Those who have a fear of death are subject to bondage, according to the book of Hebrews. But in Yahushua we have life, not death.

Romans 8:12 - Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Romans 8:13 - For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Romans 8:14 - For as many as are led by the Spirit of YAHWEH, they are the sons of YAHWEH.

Romans 8:15 - For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Romans 8:16 - The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of YAHWEH:

We must not live after the flesh. If we are walking as Yahushua walked, we have no reason to fear death. We have no reason to fear eternal damnation, because we are adopted children of Yahweh.

We can believe His Word when it says He has mercy upon those who truly repent and accept Him, but it all starts with the foundation of fearing Yahweh enough to consider He is supreme. He has the power to bring judgment upon us unless we repent. Let's examine one other area of scripture.

1John 4:12 - No one has seen YAHWEH at any time. If we love one another, YAHWEH abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

1John 4:13 - By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

1John 4:14 - And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

1John 4:15 - Whoever confesses that Yahushua is the Son of YAHWEH, YAHWEH abides in him, and he in YAHWEH.

1John 4:16 - And we have known and believed the love that YAHWEH has for us. YAHWEH is love, and he who abides in love abides in YAHWEH, and YAHWEH in him.

1John 4:17 - Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

1John 4:18 - There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

Look at the quote there, "As He is, so are we in this world." When this is the case, we have no reason to fear death. We have received eternal life in Him. How do we reconcile these verses with the other verses that tell us to fear Yahweh and to love Him?

We are told to fear Yahweh, but we're also told that perfect love casts out fear. Let's ask the question, "How do we love Yahweh?"

Deuteronomy 7:9 - Know therefore that YAHWEH thy Elohim, he is Elohim, the faithful El, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

John 14:15 - If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Perfect love casts out fear. The more we love Him, the less we need to fear His judgment against us, because the more obedient we are going to be. Yahushua was not fearing Yahweh would judge Him for being wicked and send Him to the lake of fire, because He had perfected love for His Father and for His fellow man.

If we die with Him, and He lives in us, then we also need not fear. This is where many get confused. In order to receive Yahushua, we need to repent.

Acts 2:38 - Then Kepha said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahushua the Messiah for the forgiveness of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

To repent means to make a decision to turn away from sin and begin walking in the right direction. It does not mean we're instantly walking in perfect obedience, but that our true desire from the heart is to walk in perfect obedience.
