What is a reward?

It can be in the form of wages, as punishment, as something earned, as pay for services, or it can be in the form of a gift, something not actually earned, but usually given by someone who looks favorably on you.

A reward can also be something given that exceeds the value of any action that prompts the reward.

Something to consider:

From where, or whom are we being rewarded?

What is the reward that we are seeking?

What reward is most important in our lives right now?

Romans 6:20 - For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Romans 6:21 - What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

Romans 6:22 - But now being made free from sin, and become servants to YHWH, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of YHWH is eternal life through Yahushua the Messiah our Saviour.

Proverbs 11:18 - The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

Proverbs 13:13 - Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

Proverbs 17:13 - Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.

One, of whom spent much time with our Saviour.

It was by his kiss, that he betrayed Yahshua.

Yahshua knew all along who was kissing him, and breaking His Word.

Judas sought after a lesser reward, while having an awesome reward right in front of him.

John 6:60 - Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

John 6:61 - When Yahushua knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

John 6:62 - What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

John 6:63 - It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 6:64 - But there are some of you that believe not. For Yahushua knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

John 6:65 - And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

John 6:66 - From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

John 6:67 - Then said Yahushua unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

John 6:68 - Then Simon Kepha answered him, Rabbi, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

John 6:69 - And we believe and are sure that thou art the Messiah, the Son of the living Elohim.

in such a time, this faith has got to be encouraging

John 6:70 - Yahushua answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

John 6:71 - He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

John 12:3 - Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Yahushua, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

John 12:4 - Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him,

John 12:5 - Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

John 12:6 - This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

John 12:7 - Then said Yahushua, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

John 12:8 - For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

Luke 22:2 - And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.

Luke 22:3 - Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

Luke 22:4 - And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.

Luke 22:5 - And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.

Luke 22:6 - And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

and some money...... there are many in this world who would not see anything wrong with this.

Luke 22:47 - And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Yahushua to kiss him.

Luke 22:48 - But Yahushua said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

Matthew 27:1 - When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Yahushua to put him to death:

Matthew 27:2 - And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

Matthew 27:3 - Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

Matthew 27:4 - Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

Matthew 27:5 - And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

Matthew 27:6 - And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

Matthew 27:7 - And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

Matthew 27:8 - Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

Matthew 27:9 - Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

Matthew 27:10 - And gave them for the potter's field, as YHWH appointed me.

unmerited gain, in this world?

or even those who work extremely hard at gaining this worlds riches...

esteem.....money.......power

whether they work hard for it, or not at all...... it is all vanity

Proverbs 24:17 - Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

Proverbs 24:18 - Lest YHWH see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Proverbs 24:19 - Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;

Proverbs 24:20 - For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

Matthew 5:43 - Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

Matthew 5:44 - But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Matthew 5:45 - That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Matthew 5:46 - For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

Matthew 5:47 - And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Matthew 6:1 - Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 6:2 - Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Matthew 6:3 - But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

Matthew 6:4 - That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Matthew 6:5 - And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Matthew 6:6 - But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

who seek a lesser reward..... whether out of ignorance..

or out of weakness.

even those who are greedy, pray that Yahweh will one day open their eyes.

as He has surely.....one time in our life opened ours

Matthew 6:14 - For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Matthew 6:15 - But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 6:16 - Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Matthew 6:17 - But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

Matthew 6:18 - That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

Matthew 6:19 - Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

Matthew 6:20 - But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

Matthew 6:24 - No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve YHWH and mammon.

Matthew 6:31 - Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

Matthew 6:32 - (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of YHWH, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 16:24 - Then said Yahushua unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his stake, and follow me.

Matthew 16:25 - For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 16:26 - For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Matthew 16:27 - For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to YAHWEH must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Luke 6:20 - And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of YHWH.

Luke 6:21 - Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

Luke 6:22 - Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

Luke 6:23 - Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

Luke 6:24 - But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

1Corinthians 3:9 - For we are labourers together with YHWH: ye are YHWH's husbandry, ye are YHWH's building.

1Corinthians 3:10 - According to the favor of YHWH which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

1Corinthians 3:11 - For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Yahushua the Messiah.

1Corinthians 3:12 - Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

1Corinthians 3:13 - Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

1Corinthians 3:14 - If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

Colossians 3:22 - Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing YHWH:

Colossians 3:23 - And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to YHWH, and not unto men;

Colossians 3:24 - Knowing that of YHWH ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve Yahushua the Messiah.

John 4:34 - Yahushua saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Isaiah 62:11 - Behold, YHWH hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Isaiah 62:12 - And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of YHWH: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

Revelations 11:15 - Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become [the] [kingdoms] of YHWH and of His Messiah, and He shall reign forever and ever!"

Revelations 11:16 - And the twenty-four elders who sat before YHWH on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped YHWH,

Revelations 11:17 - saying: "We give You thanks, O YHWH El-Shaddai, the One who is and who was and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and reigned.

Revelations 11:18 - The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Your name, small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth."

Psalms 103:8 - YHWH is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

Psalms 103:9 - He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

Psalms 103:10 - He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

Psalms 103:11 - For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

Psalms 103:12 - As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Psalms 103:13 - Like as a father pitieth his children, so YHWH pitieth them that fear him.

Revelations 22:11 - "He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still."

Revelations 22:12 - "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

Revelations 22:13 - "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last."

Revelations 22:14 - Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
