BrGreg - HalleluYAH
SisMary - HalleluYah
EliYah - HalleluYah! :)
EliYah - The past few weeks I have been sharing the scriptures dealing with how important it is to be keeping the commandments of Yahweh.
EliYah - We have talked about how His law is a law of love, showing us how to love our neighbor as ourselves and how to love Yahweh with all our heart, all our soul and all our might.
EliYah - Tonite I would like to share something that is almost too powerful and awesome for words.
EliYah - Something that often brings tears to the eyes of His saints
EliYah - Something that is often very difficult to comprehend the magnitude of:
EliYah - It is The awesome love and mercy of Almighty Yahweh
EliYah - Psalms 103:8 - YAHWEH is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
EliYah - Psalms 103:9 - He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
EliYah - Psalms 103:10 - He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
EliYah - Psalms 103:11 - For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
EliYah - How high is the heavens above the earth?
EliYah - Where is the furthest star?
EliYah - I believe it is infinite
EliYah - Psalms 103:12 - As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
EliYah - Consider this for but a moment..
EliYah - If you were to go east, how far would you go before you would stop going east?
EliYah - It is infinite
EliYah - forever
EliYah - If you were to go west, how far would you go before you would stop going west?
EliYah - It is infinite also!
EliYah - forever!!
EliYah - Even so are the transgressions of those who revere Him removed from Him!
EliYah - Psalms 103:13 - Like as a father pitieth his children, so YAHWEH pitieth them that fear him.
EliYah - Psalms 103:14 - For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
EliYah - Psalms 103:15 - As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
EliYah - Psalms 103:16 - For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
EliYah - Psalms 103:17 - But the mercy of YAHWEH is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
EliYah - Psalms 103:18 - To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
EliYah - Psalms 103:19 - YAHWEH hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
EliYah - Unlike man who will soon pass away, Yahweh's mercy is from everlasting to everlasting!!
EliYah - But upon who does He give His mercy?
EliYah - Surely it is upon the lowly and humble
EliYah - Proverbs 3:33 - The curse of YAHWEH is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
EliYah - Proverbs 3:34 - Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth favor unto the lowly.
EliYah - The humble and lowly state of a servant of Yahweh is what seperated Moses from the other Israelites, David from Saul and Yahshua's disciples from the religious 'leaders' of that day.
EliYah - These are the people that Yahweh would save and show mercy toward!
EliYah - 2Samuel 22:26 - With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
EliYah - 2Samuel 22:27 - With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
EliYah - 2Samuel 22:28 - And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
EliYah - Proverbs 15:33 - The fear of YAHWEH is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
EliYah - Psalms 51:17 - The sacrifices of Elohim are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O Elohim, thou wilt not despise.
EliYah - Isaiah 66:1 - Thus saith YAHWEH, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
EliYah - Job 32:21 - Let me not, I pray you, accept any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.
EliYah - Isaiah 66:2 - For all those things hath mine hand made, and those things have been, saith YAHWEH: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
EliYah - Isaiah 57:15 - For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
EliYah - Jeremiah declared the mercy of Yahweh
EliYah - Lamentations 3:18 - And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from YAHWEH:
EliYah - Lamentations 3:19 - Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
EliYah - Lamentations 3:20 - My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
EliYah - Lamentations 3:21 - This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
EliYah - Lamentations 3:22 - It is of YAHWEH's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
EliYah - Lamentations 3:23 - They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
EliYah - Yahweh Himself declared His mercy to all people. In fact, He wrote this with His own finger:
EliYah - Deuteronomy 5:8 - Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
EliYah - Deuteronomy 5:9 - Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I YAHWEH thy Elohim am a jealous El, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
EliYah - Deuteronomy 5:10 - And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
EliYah - Alot is made of Yahweh writing commandments with His own finger..
EliYah - but that is one place the He even declared His mercy with such
EliYah - Though the children of Israel moved Him to anger countless times, Yahweh still forgave them:
EliYah - Exodus 34:1 - And YAHWEH said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.
EliYah - Exodus 34:2 - And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount.
EliYah - Exodus 34:3 - And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.
EliYah - Exodus 34:4 - And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as YAHWEH had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.
EliYah - Exodus 34:5 - And YAHWEH descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of YAHWEH.
EliYah - Exodus 34:6 - And YAHWEH passed by before him, and proclaimed, YAHWEH,
EliYah - Exodus 34:7 - Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
EliYah - If we read on, we see that He did forgive the children of Israel for their sins. We need not read very far in the scriptures including the Torah to see that Yahweh has abundant mercy.
EliYah - Psalms 85:9 - Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
EliYah - Psalms 85:10 - Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
EliYah - Isaiah 55:7 - Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto YAHWEH, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our Elohim, for he will abundantly pardon.
EliYah - Isaiah 55:8 - For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith YAHWEH.
EliYah - Isaiah 55:9 - For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
EliYah - Isaiah 55:10 - For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
EliYah - Isaiah 55:11 - So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
EliYah - Romans 2:4 - Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of YAHWEH leadeth thee to repentance?
EliYah - Psalms 84:11 - For YAHWEH Elohim is a sun and shield: YAHWEH will give favor and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
EliYah - So His mercy is an absolutely positively FREE gift to the humble who repent of their ways!
EliYah - Yahshua said:
EliYah - Matthew 6:14 - For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
EliYah - Matthew 6:15 - But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
EliYah - Some are living a life of sadness and pain because they believe Yahweh is holding a grudge against them for their lack of faith or lack of obedience toward Him.
EliYah - Luke 7:47 - Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
EliYah - Some believe that Yahweh has not pardoned their sins regardless of their cries to Him. To those I ask one question, "Would Yahweh expect our mercy to exceed His own?" Consider what Yahshua said here:
EliYah - Matthew 18:21 - Then came Kepha to him, and said, Rabbi, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
EliYah - Matthew 18:22 - YAHSHUA saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
EliYah - See, Yahweh loves us..
EliYah - 1John 4:9 - In this the love of YAHWEH was manifested toward us, that YAHWEH has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
EliYah - 1John 4:10 - In this is love, not that we loved YAHWEH, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
EliYah - John 3:16 - For YAHWEH so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
EliYah - The most often quoted scripture..but look at the next 2 verses
EliYah - John 3:17 - For YAHWEH sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
EliYah - John 3:18 - He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of YAHWEH.
EliYah - Here we see His mercy and His name closely linked together..just like in the Exodus verse earlier!
EliYah - His mercy is AWESOME!!
EliYah - Romans 5:7 - For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
EliYah - HalleluYAH!!!
EliYah - Sis!
EliYah - Romans 5:8 - But YAHWEH commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, the Messiah died for us.
EliYah - Does this not prove His love toward us?
EliYah - We did nothing!
EliYah - We just sat here and rebelled against Yahweh!
EliYah - So what did He do? Destroy us?
EliYah - Curse us? Leave us without a savior?
EliYah - No way!!!
EliYah - Yahweh's love for us is NOT an empty promise!!
EliYah - It is backed up by HIS WORKS, HalleluYah!!
EliYah - I would like to share an email that I received some time ago that Brother Bob forwarded to me:
EliYah - There was once a bridge which spanned a large river.
EliYah - During most of the
EliYah - day the bridge sat with its length running up and down the river parallel
EliYah - with the banks, allowing ships to pass through freely on both sides of the
EliYah - bridge.
EliYah - But at certain times each day, a train would come along and the bridge would be turned sideways across the river, allowing a train to cross it.
EliYah - A switchman sat in a small shack on one side of the river where he operated the controls to turn the bridge and lock it into place as the train crossed.
EliYah - One evening as the switchman was waiting for the last train of the day to come, he looked off into the distance through the dimming twilight and caught sight of the train lights.
EliYah - He stepped to the control and waited until the train was within a prescribed distance when he was to turn the bridge.
EliYah - He turned the bridge into position, but, to his horror, he found the locking control did not work.
EliYah - If the bridge was not securely in position it would wobble back and forth at the ends when the train came onto it, causing the train to jump the track and go crashing into the river.
EliYah - This would be a passenger train with
EliYah - many people aboard. He left the bridge turned across the river, and hurried across the bridge to the other side of the river where there was a lever switch he could hold to operate the lock manually.
EliYah - He would have to hold the lever back firmly as the train crossed. He could hear the rumble of the train now, and he took hold of the lever and leaned backward to apply his weight to it, locking the bridge.
EliYah - He kept applying the pressure to keep the mechanism locked.
EliYah - Many lives depended on this man's strength.
EliYah - Then, coming across the bridge from the direction of his control shack, he heard a sound that made his blood run cold.
EliYah - "Daddy, where are you?" His four-year-old son was crossing the bridge to look for him.
EliYah - His first impulse was to cry out to the child, "Run! Run!" But the train was too close; the tiny legs would never make it across the bridge in time.
EliYah - The man almost left his lever to run and snatch up his son and carry him to safety.
EliYah - But he realized that he could not get back to the lever in time
EliYah - Either the people on the train or his little son must die. He took a moment to make his decision
EliYah - The train sped safely and swiftly on its way, and no one aboard was even aware of the tiny broken body thrown mercilessly into the river by the onrushing train.
EliYah - Nor were they aware of the pitiful figure of the sobbing man, still clinging tightly to the locking lever long after the train had passed.
EliYah - They did not see him walking home more slowly than he had ever walked: to tell his wife how their son had brutally died.
EliYah - Now if you comprehend the emotions which went through this man's heart, you can begin to understand the feelings of our Father in Heaven when he sacrificed His Son to bridge the gap between us and eternal life.
EliYah - Can there be any wonder that He caused the earth to tremble and the skies to darken when His Son died?
EliYah - How does He feel when we speed along through life without giving a thought to what was done for us through Yahshua the Messiah?
EliYah - When was the last time you thanked Him for the sacrifice of His Son?
EliYah - Now that, my brothers and sisters..is LOVE...and THAT is mercy!!
EliYah - Thank You Yahweh!! May His mercy be with you all!

ImAHebrew - EliYah, why didn't Yahweh have His Son die in the stead of Adam and Eve back when they first sinned?
BrGreg - HalleluYAH
EliYah - I'm not sure what all goes into His timing...
EliYah - But I know that it is perfect!!
bethcar - it's certainly not the way man would have Yahweh do things...not a story man could invent....man cannot fathom the depth of this love.
EliYah - And it is so beautiful the way His plan of salvation all comes together
ImAHebrew - EliYah, seems to me that a whole lot of suffering and pain (evil) could have been avoided if He would have done it back then?
EliYah - There is still alot of suffering and pain
EliYah - and evil
EliYah - But He has redeemed us from that..and for this I am glad :)
