In the early 1990's, I heard about a free scripture program called the "Online Bible". I was amazed by what could be done with such a program and it prompted me to go out and get myself a computer. It worked in DOS and was very nice and efficient. Since then, similar free programs have appeared on the market and most of them are very good. Some are free and others are very expensive. For years, I offered a program called "Seedmaster" on this web site for download and distribution. It is a very good program but is starting to show its age in comparison to the newer free programs available today.
One such program is E-Sword. It is quickly gaining in popularity because of its easy to use interface and quick reference to the Strong's Lexicon. You put your mouse over the word you want to lookup, and the definition appears in a little tooltip window. To download the program and the modules, click on the following links:
