Hi, I am a firm believer in that old cliché, 'you are what you eat…" One thing I am sure of is that people don't need a $30 dollar DVD or some expensive book, tape or 'wonderdrug' from some millionaire quack proclaiming to have all the answers. There is enough scientific evidence out there proving that diet and exercise directly affects our overall physical health and well-being. We all know that if we don't take enough exercise, if we smoke tobacco, take drugs, eat loads of animal fats, red meats, fried foods, dairy, chocolate, confectionary and sugary drinks etc., then sooner or later, we ARE going to get sick - because our bodies were never designed to cope with such a harsh cocktail of additives, chemical preservatives, pesticide residues, steroids and harmful toxins that is found in highly-processed 'man-made' foods today.
Kashrut (scriptural dietary laws) must be in the Scriptures for a very specific reason! - and perhaps this is why our ancestors didn't suffer from the common ailments we are prone to these days - because as part of their everyday lives, they adhered rigidly to Elohim's dietary laws, so things like diabetes, high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries, lung, liver and kidney disease etc., were uncommon.
May I throw some other things in here for discussion:
GM FOODS - Does anyone know *the* real reason why our farmers need to grow genetically modified foods - and why the world's governments are all investing heavily in the GM and processed food industry? What is their true agenda?
ANIMAL MILK AND ANIMAL FOODS - Could the reason that many people today are suffering from these 'ailments' be because as babies, many of us were not naturally breast fed on our mother's milk, but force-fed a 'man-made' mix of chemicals and animal (cows) milk? Research has shown that a human child cannot get the natural and much needed human antibodies, vitamins and proper nourishment from cows milk. Why are proprietary baby-foods - up to five years, so highly processed (and why so expensive)? Do we today rely too much on animal foods, and highly processed pre-packaged / fast foods these days, using 'no time' as an excuse for not eating more staple foods (grains), and preparing fresh, healthier meals for our families?
PHARMACEUTICAL DRUGS - Many of the drugs prescribed today can actually make a person much sicker than what they were originally suffering from! Ok, they may cure your original ailment, but some of the 'side-effects' can be terrible. I have a friend who suffered for years from chronic depression - she was taking her pills one day, and I just happened to pick up the drug information leaflet from inside the box. The possible side-effects of these drugs prescribed to 'help' my friends depression could cause hallucinations, hypertension, intense euphoria, chronic mood swings, aggression, rapid pulse, sweating, insatiable thirstiness etc. So, you take the pills prescribed by your doctor for depression, after a few months, you find that you cannot get through the day without those pills; and you become 'addicted' to them; but as a side-effect, you get high blood pressure: so your doctor prescribes you more pills.
POOR AIR QUALITY - Today, due to mankind burning fossil fuels for the world's energy needs, wherever we live on earth today, we are not breathing pure, clean 'fresh' air anymore - just a poisonous chemical mish-mash of tar, soot, pollutants and toxins. Surely, this has got to have a detrimental effect on the human ageing process and our ability to fight off diseases.
Sadly, I believe that our politicians have got it all wrong - today, we have a dying world whose economy is based upon something that pollutes, poisons and destroys - that attacks human health, and affects all animal and plant life here on earth - and that is OIL.
The toxic residues of the coal, oil and petrochemical industries is in everything - it's in the oceans, the soil, the air we breathe, in our food, and in the water we drink. Surely it would be better to take a step back and 'see sense', by moving away from OIL and moving towards basing our economies on farming, agriculture, orchards, vineyards, fish farms, and to clean up and restock our polluted oceans.
You can't eat coal and you can't drink oil… The planet is teetering on the brink of destruction, directly as a knock-on-effect of the millions of tonnes of pollutants and harmful gases that man is pumping into the environment every hour of every day. Yes, the politicians talk - but nothing really gets done - and those in control of the world, who sit in their lofty positions of wealth, power and social status, sit silently by, counting their heaps of gold, as the planet and the human race is systematically being poisoned and destroyed because of their wickedness, their foolishness, and their insatiable greed.
