: Shalom Joel,

: "How is it that presently there seems to be a much heated dispute among the followers of Yahweh in regard to the sabbath versus first day resurrection of Yahushua?"

: Very simple, because the Greek texts say the resurrection was on the "first of the sabbaths," (cf. Lev. 23:15-16), and the Messianic Reformation is arriving at the point where people are starting to discover it and the fact that the Christian world has been lying.

: "It only would be logical that we should be able to possess evidence of a dispute or disputes concerning the same issue from the early assemblies spilling over to the early church"

: The earliest comment I know of is from John Chrysostom (that "golden mouthed" antitorah preacher) who according to John Calvin thought that the Greek "first of the sabbaths," was a scribal corruption for the Greek for "Lord's day." In other words, Chrysostom could not live with the texts as we have them today, so he made up a story to explain it.

: "There can be no doubt that we have much documentation concerning the disputes about the celebration of Passover by the eastern and western factions of the early church"

: The only history we have is that preserved by the Roman Church. Why would they want to even preserve a hint of the Sabbath Resurrection.

: "Even the Quartodecimans (14th keepers) should have voiced some disagreement and pointed out the correct dating in their discussions on the issue of Passover among the western church"

: They may have! But their history was written by Rome.

: "It seems that there never was any dispute by anyone in regard to the messiah's resurrection being on the first day of the week. The records would indicate that this fact was always known and therefore no need for argument"

: You seem to value the lack of historical records more than the plain statement of the gospels: On the first of the Sabbaths. The Greek "mia [hemera] twv sabbatwv" cannot mean anything other than the first Sabbath day. When you take all the chronological statements in the scripture literally at face value, there is no other possible view.

: "The question is: Does anyone have any evidence that any early assemblies and/or followers of Yahweh held to a sabbath resurrection for Yahushua? If so, at least there would be some historical basis for the debate."

: The gospels are those records, created for that purpose. They are the Apostles official statement on the history of the Nazarenes. Do you know how old the translation "first day of the week is?" In general it goes back only to the 16th century. German, Latin, and English Bibles had "first of the sabbaths" before that.
: D'vorah's reply appears to indicate that Greek words do not matter. I beg to differ. It is perfectly obvious that "first of the Sabbaths" means the first Sabbath day in some series of sabbaths. One ought to accept it or PROVE other wise. For the burden of proof is on the one who wishes to dismiss the literal sense of the passage.
: And if you dismiss the literal sense of the passage, then you would simply reinforce the allegorical/spiritualizing methods of the likes of Origin of Alexandria, who epitomises the type of thinking that has created the mess called Christianity today. And finally, then, what legitimate basis would you have for correcting the problem? NONE!
: What legitimate basis would you have for confronting the 7000 mistranslations of Yahweh as "Lord"? NONE!
: As for history, if it were not for the intervention of Yahweh of Hosts, mankind would have totally suppressed ALL TRUTH about Him and his ways, and his doings.
: I tell you that something better than history is going to come along. Yahweh will intervene yet again. He will send us the only two living recognized witnesses of His resurrection to tell us the truth all over again, and they will lay down their lives.
