Joseph:
Are you a professor of religion? Noticed the .Edu in your server address.
The verses which I used in Isaiah were to illustrate breaks in context not
literal breaks within a verse. Two OT verses which have both time & subject separation within the verses are Num 24:17 and Dan 9:27
but they have nbeen discussed before and I cannot "prove" they do this nor provide concrete connection with week of ULB or feeding of the two multitudes. But logic alone should reflect my conclusions at least make some Scriptural sense.
Your approach is refreshing both polite and honest and I appreciate your
interest.
Neither do I intend to waste time for either of us with endless rhetoric,
because the proof will come or it will not.
You are of course familiar with pesherim(hidden interpretations)? Probably
so, though you prefer logic which has it's merit.
There are however very real pesherim, and only because the subject is handy
I will use the subject of 144,000(Rev 7 & 14) verses posted by David as an
example you may consider in comparison with what I understand to be a
parallel Tenakh account. Because I say so does not make it true but just
use your own logic, for the Bible really is logical. But we humans often do
not recognize God's logic.
You ask what difference it makes whether you know who Iraq is. The
difference is that understanding Biblical prophecy before it happens
strengthens faith in YHWH which is the main purpose of Biblical prophecy in
revealing future events in God's plans. If there were no fulfilled prophecy
in the end times, only terrible shattering events, what would that be like.
But if we hear and read the Bible and understand what is transpiring, given
proper direction, will it not be much better seeing the hand of God at
work?

In the verses he quoted in Rev chapters 7 & 14 you read of this future
144,000 singing a NEW(he changed the word to "renewed") song and they are
said to be "virgins" and "without fault"(Rev 14:5).
David says nothing new can be learned of this 144,000. Really?
Do we really believe for a second that these verses actually mean these
redeemed were virgins without fault?
I do not. Rather I believe they are symbolically "virgins" and "without
fault" only because they have been pardoned by Yhwh.
The very same group is , in my opinion, portrayed in Zech 3:1-8. This
clearly shows they are forgiven and cleansed divinely. Notice the slightly
preKingdom setting of chapter 2 and in verse an almost exact admonition
given as in Revelation to "come out of Babylon"(vs 3).
You will recall I assert these same 144,000 are spoken of in Psa
91(physical protection & redemption). You will notice many similarities
even though you may not accept my interpretation.
While some teach this 144,000 are taken up into heaven you will see In Rev
9:4 that they are very much on earth and in need of physical protection
from the wrath of YHWH.
Yes, there is more to be learned as the original questioner asked.

Peace

Eliyahu

Subject: Re: Prophet or not-interpretations

Dear Eliyahu,
I find many of your theories very interesting, but must repeat they are
just theories. Time will tell if they come true or are true. It is very
easy to say Edom is Iraq. We would both have difficulties trying to prove
if it is true or not. However, I am not as sure as you. In reality,
whether Edom is Iraq makes no difference in how I or anyone else serves
G-d.

You mentioned Isa 28:14-15 and 16-17, 18-19. Verse 15 is clearly in the
past tense while the latter verses speak of the future. Clearly an obvious
distinction between the verses is made.
There is no bits and pieces here unless you retain your interpretation.

Once again, just saying that Psalms and Proverbs are prophecies does not
make it true. I gave numerous reasons why I believe this. For example,
the Bible is always consistent, and EVERY prophecy begins with a
declaration that G-d or angel of G-d is speaking. The Bible is always
consistent. Unless you have a good reason why these types of phrases were
excluded here (and be honest with yourself), I, and I am sure others, would
have a tough time seeing these books as books of prophecies. Similarly,
Psalms and Proverbs are written in a different manner than all the other
prophecy books. Praises to G-d are abundant, words of wisdom flourish,
poetic devices are used often etc. etc. in these books. They were even
excluded from the Books of the Prophets and Put in the Books of the
Writings in the Tanach.
The bible is consistent. Despite its spiritual content, one can still use
logoc to understand the Bible.

Peace and good will
Sincerely,
Joseph
