In Judges chapter 11 Jephthah makes a vow to YHWH...did he keep this vow and offer his daughter as a sacrifice to YHWH?
When I read 11:1-3 it may be he does not have a spiritual background..but I am really confused here. Thou shalt not kill..yet if I read correctly..this man killed his daughter ..and offered her as a sacrifice to YHWH?? Does YHWH accept such an offering? I do not see this man being punished for this...or is his punishment that in making such a horrible vow his punishment was losing his daughter this way? That he was forced to keep it?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me to understand this better.
love in Yahshua,
