D'vorah:
Yours is the best explanation I have heard, including my own. It was like you put the last piece in the puzzle.
I had heard the Thursday Crucifixion, but the explanation I received was, "you just go back a day, and you have 3 days and 3 nights." I can't just back up a day without any explanation.
The reason I proposed the Monday Resurrection was because I knew the Wednesday Crucifixion theory to be in error, and the Friday - Sunday theory didn't fit. The only explanation that appeared to fit, was a Monday Resurrection.
Since the Naval Observatory said the 14th of Abib was on Tuesday night (Wednesday Evening), and they go by the dark moon, and there are 3 dark days and some times 4. Then this particular year there could have been only 3 dark days, then that could explain the Thursday Crucifixion. It fits! Thank you, what a relief.
Shalom,
Hannah

: DT,
: I would like to tell you what I think about this.....that it is the only explaniation I see that they didn't go and anoint the body of YHWSHUA after the high day had passed. I believe that Pesach, Aviv 14 was on a Thursday that year. So this would make the high day of Hag HaMatzah beginning at sunset Thursday night, which in turn would mean that Friday was the High day of Hag HaMatzah..this is why they couldn't go and anoint the body of YHWSHUA...they had to wait till after the weekly Sabbath..since the High Day went right into the Sabbath. Pesach/Aviv 14, Hag HaMatzah/Aviv 15, Sabbath/Aviv 16 & Sunday/Aviv 17...Bikkurim..resurrection of YHWSHUA. I believe that He went into the tomb right at sunset and was in the tomb on Hag HaMatzah {Aviv 15, Thurs. night/Fri. day} to fulfill that day as a picture of His burial...then He raised anytime between sunset Saturday night and dawn of the next moring--First Day/Sunday Aviv 17.

: : You appear to have a good understanding of the Wednsday/Sauterday theory and should have an answer for everything you believe, so please give me a logical answer.
: : And while your at it what proof is there that an exact 72 hours is required? I do not get that from the text quoted.

: According to ancient Jewish reckoning of a day 72 hours was not required to fulfill the three day and night senerio. See earlier post of mine.
