Shalom all
This morning we received an email from a precious brother.
In the early morning hours, his daughters home was on fire.
She could not get to her two children, a son who just turned 4 and a daughter who was to turn one this first day.
These were the only two grandchildren of brother Norman Rowe.
The family is naturally devasted. Please keep them in your prayers.
I received a second email in which brother Norman shared that just a few weeks ago, he and his daughter and two other family members sang a song together that greatly touched their lives. When they discovered where the song orignated, they had a very difficult time singing it.
Never did they realize that they would experience what they have today.
The song..
When peace like a river
Horatio Spafford's words set to music by Philip Bliss. Written by Horatio after his only four children drowned at sea.
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Refrain It is well, with my soul, .....
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control, Yahushua's regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
Refrain
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the stake, and I bear it no more, Praise YHWH, praise YHWH, O my soul!
Refrain
For me, it's Messiah, Messiah hence to live: If Jordan above me shall roll, No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.
Refrain
YHWH, ‘tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait, The sky, not the grave, is our goal; Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of YHWH! Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!
Refrain
YHWH, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound, and YHWH shall descend, Even so, it is well with my soul. ......Refrain In Yahushua, Tamar (I restored YHWH's Name)

I'm sorry to hear of this too and will keep the family in my prayers. My heart breaks for them, but Yahweh will give them peace even in the midst of it all. About a month ago, I heard someone preach a sermon including the song you posted and the story behind it. Beautiful! In Him, Free ------------------ If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36) http://FreeIndeed2.blogspot.com

Shalom all, thank you for your prayers and love.
The song "when peace like a river" was birthed out of a heart of a man who faced with such intense pain, could look above the storms in his life, to the One who holds the storms in His hand, and found his comfort and peace in YHWH.
When brother Norm contacted us, we were so shocked. This brother in YHWH and his wife travel around in a motor home. They visit their children, and are both gifted in playing music. Last year, we received word that their mobile home burned down to the ground. We never once heard him complain! Rather he kept on walking in faith, and as always had a huge smile, reflecting the joy in his heart. Most who know brother Norm, know that he is a very joyful man, a man who is quick to offer comfort and always positive in his walk with YHWH. In Sept (last month) bro Norman's father passed away. And now his two grand babies. Other than tears, and my faith in YHWH I was at a loss for words to comfort him with. You know something? This man, in the midst of this pain, comforted me! I was strengthened by his deep love and trust in YHWH! I have met many who appear so strong in faith, and then, when faced with trials like this, they are a mess! They suddenly appear to lose all faith and trust and begin to murmer and murmer like the Yisra'elites. (I know I have done this in my life as well) But this brother, has gone through testing like Job, and in the midst of his trials, I see him reaching out to comfort others with the knowledge of Yahushua, with the Word of YHWH, and it moves me to tears to witness such strong faith.
His heart aches yes, but his faith is unshakeable. I rise up and honor him! Lev 19:32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy Elohim: I am YHWH.
Blessings to all, Tamar
