Shalom in the Name of Yah and His wonderful Messiah,
i've been thinking for the last couple of weeks that this place needs a specific outlet for those here who pour their hearts out with pen and ink, to the edification of us all. and after seeing some recent posts on the Scripture forum, my thoughts have been confirmed.
so here is the place to post your poetry to Yah, your praise and struggles that have helped you through difficult times, and remind you where you have come from as well as what blessings you are headed toward, being led down the path of Torah by His Spirit to the Kingdom made manifest.
so feel free to add edification to the brothers and sisters!
here is one of my own to kick it off:
Adoption
A longing birthed deep inside my soul For a Home at last to call my own. A Place where righteousness is in control, Where peace dwells within my very bone.
A Palace bricked with adoring praise Unto a Father we have yet to see. A Tabernacle to an amazing grace That turned our hearts to love and set us free.
A Tent where we can fellowship In a homecoming so long awaited for. A rest at last from this toilsome trip; An end to this self-inflicted civil war.
A Sanctuary in the midst of time Touching the portals of the infinite. A Kingdom laid with worship sublime By a love unsearchable but intimate.
A relationship bound by covenant To a unity that cannot be undone. A meeting of our every need and want, Adopted into the Person of the Son.

</font> Burning One, I think this is a wonderful idea! Your poem was beautiful, it is one of the best I've read and I am going to write it in my notebook. I'm not much of a poet myself but I do find it edifying! I made an analogy of the pen being like a tongue or two edged sword in a letter recently. Here is a poem I like: Reality of Life Life isn't just full of happiness, It's sunsets, it's love, it's tears. It's the thoughts of yesterday's memories, That can wash away all out fears. It's that very painful experience, That each one of us has had. It's the laughter that fills the air, It's the tears when you are sad. It's loving that someone special, That at one time made you smile. It's the pain of losing that person, But the memories that make it worthwhile. It's that child in every one of us, Although in time we'll all be old. It's the good times we'll never forget, It's the memories we'll always hold. It's the hug that we all need, When we'd rather drown in our sorrow. It's the hope in every one of us, That makes us hold on for tomorrow.Copyright © By Stephanie Clark One of AdoniYah's fav verses is: Mat 6:34 “Do not, then, worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow shall have its own worries. Each day has enough evil of itself. He even had it as a website address at one time. [This message has been edited by naesimo (edited 11-05-2007).]

One of AdoniYah's fav verses is: Mat 6:34 “Do not, then, worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow shall have its own worries. Each day has enough evil of itself.
Naesimo, that is one of my favorite verses of scripture, probably because in the Old English KJV, it was the first to stick in my mind as a poetic example of pure truth.
KJV: Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

What Matt 6:34 is saying is don't "worry" about tomorrow or is it saying don't even think about tomorrow at all? It is very poetic. Shalom, Naesimo

Hos 2:16 And it shall be at that day, saith YHWH, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali. 17 For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name. 18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely. 19 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. 20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know YHWH. 21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith YHWH, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth; 22 And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel. 23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my Elohim.
Shalom all
YHWH gave me the song and melody in my heart after reading the passage above. I cannot write music, so I share this is a poem. May the words bless and inspire you as they do me! All praise to YHWH.
Our Betrothal
Here I stand, YOou pledge to me your troth We are finally together, One spirit, one breath Your love is flowing within me And Your love I return to you
....I pledge to be faithful forever, To YOUR righteousness and judgments, Your lovingkindess and mercy I am Yours YHWH!
For you took me to You forever as YOU said YOU would, You betrothed me in Your faithfulness Your righteousness is who I am Your judgments stand forever I'm cleansed by YOUR mercy You made Yourself known to me. Heaven and earth stands as a witness this day, The whole earth shouts Your glory!
And I? .... ....I pledge to be faithful forever, To Your righteousness and judgments, Your lovingkindness and mercy I am Yours YHWH
Words and melody--YHWH

Shalom Burning One,
We will post more as they are revealed to her. She sometimes has them floating around in her head for days at a time, before they "congeal" into a full fledged poem.
She is blessed to have such talent bestowed on her. We give all praise to our Father! PRAISE YAHUAH!
Take care,
angeL and story

I really enjoyed reading everyone's poetry, my notebook is going to be full sooner than I thought! Shield of David said: <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Occult means secret things. Often reproaches of things cause us to discount all things that may appear related. The satanic occult is meaning the secret things of satan. Satan does not have a lock on "secret things." In fact, YHWH is the creator of all things, revealed visibly, or unseen and secret.</font> This is dedicated to Messiah: Title: On Fire lyrics Artist: Switchfoot They tell you where you need to go Tell you when you’ll need to leave Tell you what you need to know Tell you who you need to be But everything inside you knows There's more than what you’ve heard There's So much more than empty conversations Filled with empty words Chorus: And you’re on fire When He’s near you You’re on fire When He speaks You’re on fire Burning hot at these mysteries Give me one more time around Give me one more chance to see yeah Give me everything You are Give me one more chance to be... (near You) When everything inside me looks like Everything I hate You are the hope I have for change You are the only chance I’ll take Chorus: When I’m on fire When You’re near me I’m on fire When You speak And I’m on fire Burning hot at these mysteries These mysteries... mysteries mysteries You're on fire You're on fire You're on fire I’m standing on the edge of me (x3) I’m standing on the edge I’m standing on the of everything I've never been before I’m standing on the edge I’m standing on the edge Chorus: And I’m on fire When You’re near me I’m on fire When You speak (yeah) I’m on fire Burning hot at these mysteries... Title: The Beautiful Letdown lyrics
Artist: Switchfoot
I think this is a great song about how we don't belong to the "world" anymore since we are in Messiah Yahshua!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a beautiful letdown When I crashed and burned When I found myself alone Unknown and hurt It was a beautiful letdown The day I knew That all the riches this world had to offer me Would never do
In a world full of bitter pain And bitter doubts I was trying so hard to fit in Fit in, until I found out
I don't belong here (I don't belong) *AHEM*...that is "the world" FYI I don't belong here (I don't belong) I will carry a cross and a song Where I don't belong I don't belong
It was a beautiful letdown When You found me here Yeah, for once in a rare blue moon I see everything clear I'll be a beautiful letdown That's what I'll forever be And though it may cost my soul I'll sing for free
We're still chasing our tails In the rising sun In our dark water planet still spinning In a direction no one wins No one's won.
See, I don't belong here (I don't belong) Well, I don't belong here, I don't belong I will carry a cross With a song where I don't belong I don't belong I don't belong here (I don't belong) No, I don't belong here, I don't belong I'm gonna set side And set sail For the kingdom come, kingdom come Your kingdom come Won't you let me down, yeah Let my foolish pride forever let me down
Ah, Easy living, you're not much like the name Easy dying, you look just about the same Would you please take me off your list Easy living please c'mon and let me down
We are a beautiful letdown Painfully unkewl The church of the dropouts The losers, the sinners, the failures, and the fools What a beautiful letdown Are we salt in the wound? Hey, let us sing one true tune!
YEAH!
I don't belong here (I don't belong) It feels like I don't belong here, yeah yeah It goes like I don't belong here I don't belong (I don't belong) Won't you let me down (I don't belong) C'mon and let me down (I don't belong) You always let me down (I don't belong) So glad that I'm let down (I don't belong) C'mon and let me down (I don't belong) 'Cause I don't belong here Won't you let me down!
Ain't it AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

SWITCHFOOT LYRICS
"Meant To Live"
Fumbling his confidence And wondering why the world has passed him by Hoping that he's bent for more than arguments And failed attempts to fly, fly
[Chorus] We were meant to live for so much more Have we lost ourselves? Somewhere we live inside Somewhere we live inside We were meant to live for so much more Have we lost ourselves? Somewhere we live inside
Dreaming about Providence And whether mice or men have second tries Maybe we've been livin' with our eyes half open? Maybe we're bent and broken, broken?
[Chorus] We were meant to live for so much more Have we lost ourselves? Somewhere we live inside Somewhere we live inside We were meant to live for so much more Have we lost ourselves? Somewhere we live inside
We want more than this world's got to offer We want more than this world's got to offer We want more than the wars of our fathers And everything inside............ screams for second life, yyyyyeeeeaaaahhhhh!
We were meant to live for so much more Have we lost ourselves? We were meant to live for so much more Have we lost ourselves? We were meant to live for so much more Have we lost ourselves? We were meant to live! We were meant to live!

This is dedicated to Messiah:
Johnny Cash, Ring of Fire Lyrics
Love Is A Burning Thing And It Makes A Fiery Ring Bound By Wild Desire I Fell Into A Ring Of Fire
CHORUS: I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire I Went Down, Down, Down And The Flames Went Higher
And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire
I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire I Went Down, Down, Down And The Flames Went Higher
And It Burns, Burns, Burns The Ring Of Fire The Ring Of Fire
The Taste Of Love Is Sweet When Hearts Like Ours Meet I Fell For You Like A Child Oh, But The Fire Went Wild
CHORUS I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire I Went Down, Down, Down And The Flames Went Higher
And It Burns, Burns, Burns
The Ring Of Fire
The Ring Of Fire
The Ring of Fire

To me this is what Messiah would sing to us to comfort us:
Club Escape I'll Be There
Over Mountains Over Trees Over Oceans Over Seas Across the desert I'll be there
In a whisper on the wind On the smile of a new friend Just think of Me And I'll be there
Don't be afraid, oh my love I'll be watching you from above And I'd give all the world tonight, to be with you Because I'm on your side, And I still care I may have died, but I've gone nowhere
Just think of Me, And I'll be there
On the edge of a waking dream Over Rivers Over Streams Through Wind and Rain I'll be there
Across the wide and open sky Thousands of miles I'd fly to be with you I'll be there
Don't be afraid, oh my love I'll be watching you from above And I'd give all the world tonight, to be with you Because I'm on your side, And I still care I may have died, but I've gone nowhere
Just think of Me, And I'll be there Just think of Me, And I'll be there
Don't be afraid, oh my love I'll be watching you from above And I'd give all the world tonight, to be with you Because I'm on your side, And I still care I may have died, but I've gone nowhere
Just think of Me, And I'll be there
Just think of Me, And I'll be there
Think of me, I'll be there

This is a very healing song, not just for spouses but also others that are close to us that we can hurt sometimes. Like other brethren and the least of these.
Michael Buble Always on my mind
Maybe I didn't treat you Quite as good as I should have Maybe I didn't love you Quite as often as I could have Little things I should have said & done I just never took the time
But you were always on my mind You were always on my mind
Maybe I didn't hold you All those lonely, lonely times And I guess I never told you I'm so happy that you're mine If I made you feel second best Girl, I'm sorry I was blind
You were always on my mind You were always on my mind
Tell me, tell me that your Sweet love hasn't died Give me, give me one more chance To keep you satisfied Satisfied
Little things I should have said & done I just never took the time
But you were always on my mind You were always on my mind You were always on my mind You were always on my mind

I think this is a good song about priorities.
Michael Buble Lyrics
"Can't Buy Me Love"
I'll buy you a diamond ring, my friend, if it makes you feel alright I'll get you anything, my friend, if it makes you feel alright 'Cause I don't care too Much for money Money can't buy me love
I'll give you all I've got to give, if you say you love me too I may not have a lot to give, but what I got I'll give to you Don't care too Much for money Money can't buy me love Can't buy me love, everybody tells me so You Can't buy me love, no no no, no!!!!!!!
Say you don't need no diamond ring, and I'll be satisfied Tell me that you want the kind of things, that money just can't buy I don't care too Much for money Money can't buy me love
I'll give you all I've got to give, if you say you love me too I may not have a lot to give, but what I got I'll give to you Don't care too Much for money Money Money
Say you don't need no diamond rings, and I'll be satisfied Tell me that you want the kind of things, that money just can't buy I don't care too Much for money Money can't buy me love
Can't buy me love,
And with a love like that you know you should be glad!
With a love like that you should be glad!
With a love like that you know you should be glad!
With a love like that you know you should be glad!

Burning One,
I have another reason to thank you for starting this topic. AdoniYah wrote two poems last night. He's never wrote any poetry before!!! I am not much of a poet but I am excited that YHWH may have given AdoniYah a gift for it!!! I have to again thank Him for all that He is/has done for us and our marriage. HalleluYah!
Grace, Love, and Mercy
I lay down my pride, I lay it at your feet I bow down before you, A humble willing servant Take me, Break me, Then build me up again. A wretched man of flesh and bone, Light and darkness wage war within Pour me out, empty this vessel, Then fill me up once more. Grace, Love, and Mercy, Your Spirit overwhelms Do I deserve? Will you remember? "Child", I hear you say, "Come to me Salvation is yours If you choose to follow the Way."
Our Journey
Our destination lies ahead, Calling us into His embrace. We set our feet and begin to walk, All the while yearning to take our place. As we progress our pace starts to slow, We become distracted by the passing scenes. The temptations call, But we fight those desires Continuing on. Pleased that we have turned away, Farther along our flesh feels so frail It cries out for the old ways, Lame I have become, I feel somewhat withered We pray for just a drop more strength, Please carry us Abba just one more time And help us through these days, My body stumbles, We move to and froe Yet my mind races straight without sway. We long for the joy of the journeys end But my body tries to fail me once again. Each step brings us pain, More constant reminders Of who, what, and where I am. I have now become parched, I begin to fade away Longing for a drink to quench this thirst. When the soul has grown weary We hear a voice from the Heavens Saying Faith…Hope…Love. We drink our fill of these words of living water And are on course yet again. Although the world around has become dark A shining light guides our way. Our destination lies ahead, Calling us into His embrace. I set my feet and we begin to walk, All the while yearning to take our place.

[This message has been edited by becky (edited 11-08-2007).]</font> Shalom becky, Thank you for the compliment. I will pass it along through prayer to Father Yahweh. All praise and glory to Him. I started typing a few lines last night and this is what I ended up with. The Living ElohimSigns and wonders They abound all around Nature proclaims His Name. He is the Living Elohim Blessing us with His presence Yet we struggle to share our day. We pick up our pace Long strides of content bliss Never noticing what He has to share. Unseeing to our Left Unseeing to our right Cumbersome blinders block our view. Our attention is stolen Sometimes given away For the trappings of an unholy world. Bells and whistles Sparkling lights Enticing spender with every gaze. Lead astray What have we become? Dwelling in a prison without walls. Take a moment to breath Let out a sigh Step away from the ways of man. The Living Elohim will open the gates Freeing your mind Pardoned from your self-imposed sentence. Look here, Look there The blinders are gone A splendid world waits. Signs and wonders They abound all around Nature proclaims His Name. He is the Living Elohim Blessed are we with His presence We strive to share our day. We now slow our pace Long strides of hopeful bliss Now noticing what He has to share. Glory on our Left Magnificence on our right Nothing can block our view. Our attention never wavers Nor is it given away As we gaze at His wonderful creations. The soft grass under foot Birds swooping in flight The wind on my sun warmed cheek. These wonders declare His Holy Name And proclaim His glory on High. Shalom to all and I pray you have a blessed day! ------------------ Shalom, AdoniYah www.hopeville.net www.hopeville.net/AdoniYah email: adoniyah at hopeville dot net

I STILL BELIEVE by Jeremy Camp
Scattered words and empty thoughts seem to pour from my heart. I’ve never felt so torn before, seems I don’t know where to start. But it’s now that I feel Your grace fall like rain, from every fingertip, washing away my pain.
(Chorus) I still believe in Your faithfulness, I still believe in Your truth, I still believe in Your holy words. Even when I don’t see, I still believe.
Though the questions still fog up my mind with promises I still seem to bear, even when answers slowly unwind, it’s my heart I see You prepare. But it’s now that I feel Your grace fall like rain, from every fingertip, washing away my pain. (Chorus)
The only place I can go is into Your arms, where I throw to you my feeble prayers in brokenness. I can see that this was your will for me, help me to know you are near. (Chorus)

Shalom, After having a talk with an employee of mine last night who is struggling with some life issues I thanked Yahweh for giving the words to speak during our conversation. I thought about how my trials and hardships so far in my life gave me something to connect to him with. I couldn't cure him of his issues but at least he knows he is not the only person dealing with these problems.
Why?
Why did I hurt? Why did I need? Pain seared my fragile soul Then vanished, letting me be
Reflecting on the past Shadowed memories brought to light Proclaiming who I once was Sharing how I was losing the fight
Through most of my life questions lingered, Answers alluded, always evading I hungered for release from my transgressions, Saved by grace was I through death Glory be to my Savior
Covered with scars From choices made Now worn as medals On permanent display
Unhidden emotions Worn on my sleeve Out in the open For everyone to see
A journey of heartache Blood, sweet and tears My life a living sacrifice I pray He will hear
Rejoice in your suffering Lessons learned through it all For when a broken heart cries I can now answer the call
Why did I hurt? Why did I need?
To become the person I am Who He wants me to be
May Yahweh take me, break me and build me up again a better man than I was before.
Shalom, AdoniYah

To those who worry about this country and what kind of influence we have on the rest of the world.
And especially keeping in mind military and their families.
Linkin Park Hands Held High Lyrics
Turn my mic up louder I got to say somethin. Lightweights step it aside when we come in Feel it in your chest, the syllables get pumpin People on the street they panic and start running. Words on loose leaf sheet complete coming. I jump in my mind and summon the rhyme i'm dumping. Healing the blind I promise to let the sun in Sick of the dark ways we march to the drum and Jump when they tell us that they wanna to see jumping. (radio edit) that, I wanna see some fist pumping. risk something, take back what's yours say something that you know they might attack you for cause I'm sick of being treated like I have before like it's stupid standing for what I'm standing for. Like this war's really just a different brand of war. Like it doesn't cater to rich and abandon poor. Like they understand you in the back of the jet, when you can't put gas in your tank, and these (radio edit) are laughing their way to the bank, cashing the check asking you to have compassion, have respect for a leader so nervous in an obvious way Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay and the rest of the world watching at the end of the day in the living room laughing like what did he say?
Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen
In my living room watching, I am not laughing, Cause when it gets tense I know what might happen The world is cold, the bold men take action have to react or get blown into fractions. Ten years old, it's something to see, another kid my age drug under a jeep, taken and bound, and found later under a tree, I wonder if he had thought the next one could be me.
Do you see, the soldiers, they're out today they Brush the dust from bulletproof vests away. It's ironic, at times like this you pray, but a bomb blew the mosque up yesterday. There's bombs on the buses, bikes, roads, inside your market, your shops, your clothes, my dad, He's got a lot of fear I know but enough pride inside not to let that show. My brother had a book he would hold with pride A little red cover with a broken spine. On the back, he hand wrote a quote inside: "when the rich wage war, it's the poor who die" And meanwhile, the leader just talks away Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay and the rest of the world watching at the end of the day both scared and angry like what did he say?
Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen.
With hands held high into a sky so blue as the ocean opens up to swallow you. ________________________________________________________________
Linkin Park No More Sorrow Lyrics
Are you lost, In your lies? Do you tell yourself, I don't realize? Your crusade's a disguise Replace freedom with fear, You trade money for lives.
I'm aware of what you've done.
No, no more sorrow. I've paid for your mistakes. Your time is borrowed. Your time has come to be replaced.
I see pain, I see need. I see liars and thieves, Abuse power with greed. I had hope, I believed. But I'm beginning to think that I've been deceived.
You will pay for what you've done.
No, no more sorrow. I've paid for your mistakes. Your time is borrowed. Your time has come to be replaced.
Thieves and hypocrites. Thieves and hypocrites. Thieves and hypocrites.
No, no more sorrow. I've paid for your mistakes. Your time is borrowed. Your time has come to be replaced.
No more sorrow. I've paid for your mistakes. Your time is borrowed. Your time has come to be replaced.
Your time has come to be replaced. Your time has come to be erased.

here is another of mine from back in '01
Forged In Faith
Now beckons the lure of a clandestine dream: Where the past was yet to be, and not as it would seem. With that vision comes tidings born with a breath - A whisper of an echo of an ancient Garden death.
In the mists of my memories a form takes shape: It coils ‘round the hearts of the souls it will rape. The acid taste of poison still rests upon my tongue; The venom of all slavery from the song it once sung.
It is the regrets and the guilts of a paradise I betrayed By the pride in my heart from the ignorance I displayed. It was a revolution against the worship that made me more than dust; An uprising against that awe which slew my innate holy lust.
I fell from His glory by a simple act so absurd, And once formed in His image, now that image was blurred. I corrupted His breath, and so, too, this clay, When I forfeited eternity to court vanity for a day.
In Adam I tasted of the fruit of the tree, And lost both what I was and what I could be. I abdicated my title of prince of the earth And severed any ties that gave me any worth.
Innocence became a utopia, an undiscovered country, A fable and a hope for a world steeped in slavery. And though ignorance was the closest virtue I had found to liberty, In the end I knew it’s heart was betrothed to anarchy.
For when I plummeted to the depths of perversion and sin, I worshipped with ignorance the serpent I let win. The tree of knowledge promised something so profound, But one taste of the fruit and all my dreams were bound.
The wisdom that it offered was thistle and sharp thorn, A shackling of my spirit to this earth where I was born. I had hoped the path I had chosen held all that could be known, But Yah inhabits a wisdom that even the serpent had not been shown.
There He stands unmoving, only relative in the way He is absolute. And though I cannot express it, it is something I just can’t refute. I know this aspect of my faith is a must if El is truly real, For I’ve pledged my breath to Him in spite of what I think I know or feel.
So this faith I carry is an anthem in an El I cannot tame, And thus my belief consumes my doubt with an undying flame. It is reshaping my spirit into what I will someday be: A creature forged in faith, and fashioned for eternity.

Here I stand, Bruised and filled with pity, And I give YOU my heart, I tell you of my sorrows, I tell you of my shame, I tell you of my brokeness I call out to YOU in pain.
Your loving eyes look into mine And then I discover pain, You show me scar filled hands and feet, You let me see YOUR shame, Never did I bleed as YOU, Never was I smitten Never did I give my life, As Yahushua did for me...
Self pity is for selfish ones, Who do not see YOUR love, Who prefer self pity over You, Who rather boast of pain, Who in so doing, deny the ONE Who died and rose again
May my boast be of YOU YHWH, May my words of me be few Self pity is a boast of evil In YOUR love, YOU overcame You triumphed over all evil Your gave YOUR live for me With my breath YOUR praise I tell Yahushua, yes Emmanuel!
Co-authored with YHWH. He gave the words, I wrote them down.
Blessings, Tamar

Shalom Tamar,
that was a beautiful poem. and with such a wonderful, well-needed message!
thank you for sharing and being used by the Father!
**just a further thought**
i had to come back and add this, after considering your poem once more, specifically this line:
"Self pity is for selfish ones,"
if you were to transliterate the word "selfish" into Hebrew, you might end up with the following "seleph-ish." the word "ish" probably readily stands out as being the word for "man," and the word "seleph" simply means "perversness/wickedness/twistedness." so a selfish person is one whose proper focus has been "twisted or perverted" away from the Father and His Son, to themselves. our attention and focus in life is not to be on ourselves - we are to die to self and let Messiah love and live and move and minister through us.
just a thought i wanted to add! hope it was uplifting in some way.
Chayim b'Moshiach (Life in Messiah)

Shalom naesimo,
i was just reading back through the other poems/songs posted on here and read your posts about AdoniYah.
what an awesome thing concerning his poems! the Father is good and does good to and through His people! praise Him for using us and manifesting gifts and talents in His body!
on another note - one question maybe you can help me with:
Linkin Park - i noticed you posted the lyrics to some of their songs. i recently heard "What I've Done" on the radio at work, and the lyrics seemed surprisingly uplifting (almost spiritual). i thought they were a secular band, but some of their lyrics are making me think otherwise. i am not familiar with them other than their name and the specific song i've just mentioned, do you know anything about their personal beliefs?
kinda curious, just wondering if you had any info.

Chayim b'Moshiach (Life in Messiah)</font> Burning One, Yeah I don't think it was just a coincidence you started this topic and then AdoniYah wrote his first poetry !!! Here is a little info on the members of Linkin' Park: Their latest album "Minutes to Midnight" is based on the Doomsday Clock. Chester Bennington: Bennington was born in Phoenix, Arizona.[1] He took interest in music at a young age, citing Depeche Mode and Stone Temple Pilots as early inspirations.[1] Bennington's parents separated in the late 1980s, while he was still a child.[1] He was sexually abused during his youth, and later struggled with cocaine and methamphetamine addictions.[1] Bennington eventually overcame his drug addiction, and would go on to denounce drug use in future interviews.[2] He worked at a Burger King restaurant before starting his career as a professional musician.[1] (I don't know about his religious beliefs but I would say he's more secular) _______________________________________________________________________________ Rob Bourdon: Rob was born in Calabasas, California and now lives in Los Angeles. He grew up in the same town as the members of Incubus and Hoobastank. Rob started to play the drums after watching an Aerosmith concert. His mother was the girlfriend of Joey Kramer, Aerosmith's drummer, so they were able to go backstage and see the entire production; Kramer also gave Rob a kick pedal. In late 2006, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park said on Tattoo Stories that his bandmates Rob and Brad didn't have any tattoos for religious reasons. Both are actively of the Jewish faith._______________________________________________________________________________ Bradford Phillip Delson (born December 1, 1977, in Agoura, California[1]), is a Jewish musician best known as the lead guitarist and temporary bassist for the band Linkin Park. He is also the A&R for Machine Shop Recordings. Delson graduated from Agoura High School in 1995 and formed Xero with Mike Shinoda whom he knew since the seventh grade, which would later become Linkin Park. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in communications, but decided to forget law school to pursue a career with Linkin Park. _______________________________________________________________________________ David Farrell was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts but later moved to Mission Viejo, California when he was five. He attended Mission Viejo High School. He also graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1999 . He is adept at playing the bass guitar, electric guitar, cello and violin. He has also been known to play an upright bass at some concerts. Farrell was a member of a Christian ska/Christian punk band known as the Tasty Snax. While attending college, he would practice with Brad Delson in their dorm room together. However, because he had to play and tour with the Tasty Snax, he could not play with Delson and his band, which would become Linkin Park. After changing their name to Snax, Farrell began playing bass guitar in the band before leaving once again to join Linkin Park full-time to play bass. Farrell's fellow band mate Mark Fiore became Linkin Park's videographer. As described in the inlay for Reanimation he uses an Ernie Ball MusicMan Bass. _______________________________________________________________________________ Joseph Hahn, often known as Mr. Hahn, is a musician and director of Korean descent best known as the turntablist for the American band Linkin Park. Hahn joined Linkin Park when the band was called Xero in 1996 as the band's turntablist. Since then, he has directed music videos for most singles of his band, with the exceptions of "One Step Closer", "Crawling" and "Faint". He is referenced to as Mr. Hahn at the beginning of "Cure for the Itch" from "Hybrid Theory". On the new album Minutes to Midnight, Joe Hahn contributes more to programming with his sound effects board and uses more of his MIDI board. The only songs he uses turntables in Minutes To Midnight are the minor roles in "What I've Done", "Valentine's Day", and "In Pieces." _______________________________________________________________________________ Mike Shinoda was raised in the Los Angeles suburb of Agoura Hills.[1] Mike has a younger brother (born 1979) named Jason.[1][2] His first exposure to music came during his middle and high school years, and attended a concert featuring Anthrax and Public Enemy[3] He attended Chester W. Nimitz Middle School in Huntington Park.[citation needed] After that, he began taking piano lessons, studying classical pianist techniques, and later moved on to jazz and hip hop. It was during this period that he added the guitar and, eventually, rap-style vocals to his repertoire. [3] After his teens, Mike Shinoda's rap interests found a source of encouragement in friend Brad Delson, with whom he started to write and record songs in a makeshift studio set up in his basement. Shinoda attended Agoura High School with Linkin Park bandmate Brad Delson, as well as with members of the band Hoobastank. By the end of high school, drummer Rob Bourdon had become involved in their musical ventures. The trio formed the band Xero, and began to make a more serious attempt to pursue a career in the music industry. After high school, Shinoda enrolled in the Art Center College of Design to study graphic design and illustration.[1] It was here that he made the acquaintance of DJ and turntablist Joseph Hahn, who, along with Delson's college-mate Phoenix, was soon added to Xero's line-up. Shinoda eventually graduated from college with a degree in illustration, securing himself a job as a graphic designer right after graduation.[1] With his background as a graphic artist, Shinoda has taken it upon himself in designing all of Linkin Park's artwork with Hahn, and has even designed the album cover for Styles of Beyond's debut album, 2000 Fold. In later years he would go on to showcase his art skills;[citation needed] he had his debut art showcase at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles in the time leading up to Linkin Park's album Minutes To Midnight. ______________________________________________________________________________ So there are two men of the Jewish faith in the band and atleast one may | | | | |
