The way of Yahweh is a pecular way. Unfortunately many of us live in a place where we have few or no role models of how Yahushua would have us to live. My husband and I have had these struggles and have been given much wisdom by Yahweh. We struggle with the lack of people around us who want to read Yahweh's word much less walk as He would have us to. But alas, Yahweh has called us to be a wine skin and we really want to share His truths. I personally have had several women from the chat room come to me about the way of Yahweh for women and it is a very different road than most of us have been taught to walk. I just wanted to post and say that I am just learning and I am far from being perfect, but I would be willing to share my experiences in growing to walk on this path and I would be willing to be accountable with any that have a desire. As I stated, I am far from perfect, but I will do my best to be faithful.
In His love and shalom,
Tahar

Shalom, Tahar

I can certainly empathize with you, as I am going thru the same thing you went thru. The chat room is a very nice place to chat and learn from others of similar beliefs. I, too, am learning the ways of Yahweh, and so just wanted to share with you that you are not alone.

Mazel Tov to you! (and ME as well! LOL)

Hello Tahar, I really need accountability too. I am discouraged due to my Moms attitude towards my choices. I am haveing a hard time getting it together in time for Sabbath on preparation day as well as being the submissive wife as the Word requires of us. Pray for me. I am changeing from Shashua to Chanita. Talk to you soon. Chanita

Shalom sisters!

Here are some great studies!

http://www.eliyah.com/family/mothers.html
http://www.eliyah.com/family/wives.html

In my journeys with YHWH as HIS handmaiden...HE has deeply impressed this passage on my heart...may you too be encouraged!

1Pe 3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
1Pe 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of Elohim of great price.

I asked YHWH to reveal to me deep inside of me...what this ornament of a meek and quiet spirit really is...
and then, with joy when HE showed me,
the words..

is in the sight of Elohim of great price...

made perfect sense!

May YHWH bless you richly as you fulfil the desires HE placed upon your hearts!

With much love in Yahushua,
Tamar

I would reccomend you go to this site and read the article entitled:

"Family Order," http://www.yahuahreigns.com/family.html

it is a well written and thought provoking tretise on the roles in a Torah observant household.

Hi all, this is late coming, but I really need some fellowship with other women trying to follow Yahweh in all ways. I hope this thread can be revived and maybe we can all develop friendships and help each other walk as we should.

Just an introduction - My name is Nancy, I am in the chat room usually on Shabbat, don't get a lot of time to go there other times though I wish I could. I have 4 "bio" children, 4 adopted, and 1 foster son as this time. 3 of my kids are grown and moved out, so I have 6 at home right now. We homeschool (have been for about 15 years or so) and we live in West Virginia on a 40 acre farm. We raise sheep and goats, and I make things with the wool and sell them on Ebay and Etsy.

Looking forward to speaking with more of you!

Nancy

Shalom Nancy,
I agree whole-heartedly with your post. I think my original post was mis-understood as I was trying to reach out to those who are struggling with this lifestyle and maybe had questions. I hope to have fellowship with more women also. Maybe you and I nancy could at least e-mail one another once a week or give each other a call. Anyway, Yahweh be glorified and magnified!

Tahar - what does Tahar-bat-Levi mean?

Do you do a devotional each day? I try and at least pray, but I have gotten behind in the daily Torah Study that Chuck does for the kids. Still, I'm trying to catch up!

Shalom Nancy,
Tahar means "clean or cleansed" and bat-Levi means daughter of Levi. That is because Yochanan has traced his family line to the tribe of Levi. I understand about the devotional thing. I pray every day, but I get behind on studies often. I am somewhat a person that needs structure. It is hard for me to just open up with out a lesson polan or guide, but Yahweh is helping me. Look forward to chatting with you again sson! Yahweh bless!
Shalom

I get so behind on preparation day. Does anyone else feel like there are just not enough hours in the day or days in the week?

I think I need to work on maybe doing a little each day instead of saving it all for preparation day. I get so bummed when dinner's not quite done and the sun is slowly sinking away *sigh* How do you ladies do it all?

It seems like friday morning, we usually run to the store for last minute stuff, and this really cuts into the day. I think if I start going later thursday night, and make sure I get everything I need, things will go more smoothly.

Another thing...we end up with a huge mess after dinner. I know we are supposed to not do work, but it is more deppressing and stressful for me to have all that mess sitting around for 24 hours. It seems also that although we've stressed everyone picking up their own messes, everyone leaves messes more because it's the Sabbath, and I end up with much more work. Sorry, don't mean to complain. But honestly, lately, Sabbath is anything but rest for me. Does this happen at any of your homes?

Any ideas of how to make things run more smoothly would be greatly appreciated!

shalom Nancy,

my mother and I usually try to get laundry, cleaning floors, bathroom, shopping etc done on Thursday, so we only prepare the food on Friday. This way we can enjoy watch the sun setting on Friday with the colourful sky and birds flying and flitting from tree to tree. Then we go inside and eat our shabbat dinner with peace.

We have an unused dishwasher - we just rinse our plates and put them in there. Come 1st day, we take them out and wash 'em.

I've read that some Jews use paper plates on shabbats, this way everyone gets to rest.

Hope the info is useful.

Shalom dear achoti Nancy,
Yes, I understand what you are talking about. I often times work on Friday and Thursday night so it can be a real challenge. Usually we get something simple and not very mussy for erev shabbat and shabbat to eat. We do either sandwiches, fruit salad, or both. Also, we recently had some people from the chat room come to meet us on their way to Tenn. We bought styrofoam plates and plastic cups in preperation for their visit. This is now what we use on shabbat. There are many reasons for this, but the main one is so that we can enjoy Yahweh and His people. Try to make the meal on shabbat about enjoying one another and ehjoying Yahweh. PBandJ can be tov and not much to clean up. Anyhow, hope this helps. Also, our weekly chore day is 1st day so we usually don't have that to deal with. Shalom to your home and Yahweh bless!

We've begun making 1st day (snday) our big clean up day too. Although Shabbat is from sundown to sundown, we try to not do much on 7th day night either. I feel that if you prepare all day fri, then do a big clean up sat., you really don't get much of a rest! So we wait till 1st day morning and do a whole house clean up, as well as outside work.

I recently got the book, "Fix it and Forget it" which is all crock pot recipies, I think I'll start using those for preparation day...by the evening I would think we could turn it off and just dip out our dinner, no worries!
