Becky, you mentioned in another post that you do Medical Transcripting from home. Is it possible you could email me information on who you took the course from? I am very interested in picking up something to earn some saving money. My email is colleenwojtczak at yahoo dot com.
Thank you so much!

Hi Colleen,
Sure. As a matter of fact I will share it right here unless you want an email specifically for some reason. I took the course from At-Home Professions. After all these years, I believe it was a very thorough course. There are always things you have to learn by experience and no schooling can teach you. But, you are 99% there if you KNOW someone who can help. When I took the course, I had never even heard of medical transcription. Are you familiar with transcribing? Basically, doctors dictate patient reports on tapes or digital recorders and then you listen and type it up. Anyway, I didn't know any transcriptionists that I could call and say 'what is this guy saying?!!!)

If you do decide to learn it, I will be available for any questions or help you might need every step of the way. my email is onlybcc atjustemail dotnet And if you want to talk about it, which can sometimes be much easier, email me and I will send you my phone number.
This particular course was $2000. There are other options out there and I can help you look if you want. I would say the most important skill necessary to do transcription is strong problem-solving skills. The second most necessary thing is a good knowledge of medical terminology, which a good course will take care of. some other things that are important are a pretty good understanding of English,as you are always having to change words around so what the docs are saying makes sense, and being a speedy typist, which I have some great helps there. Just email me if you want more info or more detailed specifics, or even if you want my phone number. I love medical transcription and being able to work for myself and I love being able to help in any way I can......the link to at-home professions is below.....becky
