Hi all!
I hope you'll all be patient with me....A couple (few?) months ago I decided to buy a new bible. Before buying, I decided to do an online search; to help me decide between the different translations.
My first discovery was that all bibles were not created equal. I was shocked at the things I read about certain translations and the potential implications. What was supposed to be an easy/short search for the right translation ended up being an incredible research project.
Along that journey, I stumbled across information that rocked the foundation I stood upon. According to this new revelation, my salvation was not as secure as I first imagined. I read Scriptures that I have never seen before, or maybe I was blind to. I started searching the internet and Scriptures for more; spending 12 to 15 hours a day in my quest.
In these last few months, I have learned the name of my Saviour and the need to live in obedience (in accordance with His Word). I also learned the pagan origins of christmas, easter, and others. This was particularly difficult as the revelation about christmas happened maybe a week before christmas. That and the fact that my family was going to celebrate christmas on saturday, which I recently learned was the Sabbath.
It was a real internal struggle...but I called my sister who was hosting this years christmas celebration and told her that I wanted to honor the Sabbath and therefore would not be able to make it on saturday. Suprisingly, she asked if sunday would be better (mind you, this is only a couple of days notice), and I agreed.
I spent a very enjoyable time with my family, but informed them that I would no longer be celebrating christmas (or easter for that matter). I gave each of my family some reading materials that I had accquired; to help explain the current journey I was on.
The outcome? Most of my family thinks I have converted to Judaism. One of my sisters came to me with questions. She is now on the same journey as I am....yeah!
She (my sister) talked with her pastor about the things she was learning from me, and he contacted me. I had some very long correspondance with him, but in the end he decided he no longer wanted to discuss Sabbath or any other revelations I had presented to my sister.
It was a great opportunity to witness to my sister, as she noticed that I was supporting my "opinion" with Scripture and her pastor could not. Wow, that was an incredible spiritual battle.
I am very humbled. The things I have learned have turned my life upside down, as well as the lives of my family.
Anyways, thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings. I hope to learn from you all. Perhaps I will have something to share as well.
May El Yeshuatenu bless you all, Mark

Hi Goldsworthy,
Welcome to the narrow road! I'm less than a year ahead of you and still finding my feet. I know how learning the truth rocks your world and it takes time to get used to it.
I've tried talking to my family and church friends but no-one is interested, not even my husband, so it's a lonely walk. However, there are some good 'meeting places' on the net, and this is one of them.
Blessings to you! Lindsey

One of the most surprising things I encountered was the opposition to Sabbath observation...Wow. Never in a million years would I have dreamed of the reaction I recieved.
I am now a legalist, a Judiaser (sp) and someone who wants to enslave people under the Law.
wow.

Shalom Goldsworthy, Welcome to the family! Yes, the way is narrow, and few there be that find it. You will get much opposition but remember To count it all joy! 1 Peter 4:1-16
Praying that Yahweh would bless you most richly and draw you ever nearer to Himself, growing always in His wisdom, grace and love, in the name of our precious Savior, Yahushua.

Shalom and welcome Mark! Your testimony reminded me of a song I wrote almost 10 years ago. I too was "accused" as you are. As I was sitting, stunned at how folks who had soooo much love, suddenly had so much hate! oy! You can't hear the tune..but here are the words: Ha ha ha, HalleluYAH Ha ha ha, HalleluYah I'm so joyful, I'm so blessed, Why? Because I'm a legalist! Now before you laugh before you cry, let me tell you, the reason why my joy. To be a legalist simply means, you say "I do" to John 14;15 If you love my Father you, Will obey His commandments too Heaven and earth will pass away, His Word stands forever, amein Ha ha ha, HalleluYah Ha ha ha, HalleluYah Welcome aboard to a multigrain loaf Remember always when reading and getting to know us, that grains come in many shapes, colors and flavors. Yet, put together in one loaf....awesome multigrain bread! 1Co 10:17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. When we remember we are one...we stop fighting against each other, and begin working in unity, realizing we need one another to be a complete body, with Yahushua as our head and firm foundation as well! Blessings Tamar

Hello Mark, Eliyah has some very good studies on the correct and true names of Elohim and on the Sabbath in case you have not read them. I came across them in my own search for the truth on the Sabbath. I had been troubled for years by the 4th command to honor the Sabbath. It just didn't fit with the other commands because it required something literal, to actually set aside a day. I have recently been reading and studying in Genesis 1 and 2. Take time to contemplate the verses about the very first Sabbath here in the beginning and see what the Spirit speaks to your heart. It is interesting to read about the very first blessings in Gen 1.
Thanks for sharing your testimony. It is really awesome to see and recognize His hand moving in the lives of His children.......becky

Thank you for the warm welcome!
Messiah is molding me into somebody new...If you can picture a guy who used to participate in no-holds fighting with close cut hair and an intimidating goatee...that would be me...now I'm wearing tzitzith, growing a proper beard and holding my tongue. All this in a matter of a few months. Some of my friends have yet to see the "new" me.
Mark

I have even learned to recite the Sh'ma in Hebrew...well, three lines of it anyways.
I have to admit, it sometimes feels awkward to recite the Sh'ma twice a day.

You are funny Mark! You know sadly I have met precious sisters who simply love to sing, and have told me that they were asked by others in congregational singing, to please sing as quiet as possible as they didn't sing on key. Lol..who's key? I grin at YHWH for if you ever sat and watched documentaries on various animals and birds, some of them have what man might say, a horrible voice. But you know, YHWH made each of them, and said.. It is good! Perhaps we could take a lesson from the bullfrogs croak, it's a joyful noise to YHWH! For me personally, seeing someone sing, and watching the joy on their face as they offer their best sacrifice of praise to YHWH is beautiful! It's about the heart, not the vocal chords So, surprise your sister and make a joyful noise to our Elohim! From the heart is truly music to our ears. I pondered some time ago, with YHWH there is no time like with us. Our music is "built" around time. Everything has timing. I wondered what the angels sound like before YHWH..do they use "timing"? Anways...you did give me a good chuckle. Let us exalt Yah's name together forever! Psalm 34 Blessings Tamar

Shalom & love, Renae</font> Shoot.....I didn't even talk about my day out training with the Green Berets. Or about the time when I had to perform the Heimlich maneuver on some poor guy; seemed like an entire burrito came out. Or how 'bout the time when I tackled that road sign...knocked me clean out, but I broke that pole in half (let that be a lesson to all road signs out there)...good times...good times [This message has been edited by goldsworthy (edited 02-20-2008).]

Somehow we (me and Adrian) have missed your posts until recently. We really like hearing things like that. I wanted to ask you why you had blows to the head, like were you a boxer or something. Does the road sign count as one? Did you know there is a Family Fellowship Photo Album? http://www.eliyah.com/forum2/Forum13/HTML/000057.html And one for pets: http://www.eliyah.com/forum2/Forum13/HTML/000090.html Shalom, Renae
